Charles de Gaulle Turns Europe Against Jews

Nadene Goldfoot
13,152 Jews including 4,115 children, were rounded up by the French Police Force in 1942 and held just outside Paris, France in the Drancy Camp before they were sent to the German Concentration Camps where they would be tortured and slaughtered.  They had been taken from their homes to the "Vel d'Hiv", or winter cycling stadium in southwestern Paris, in July of 1942. They were later taken to a rail terminal at Drancy, northeast of the French capital, and then deported to the east. Only a handful ever returned.
There was a well-known French-Polish-Jewish  cartoonist by the name of (Louis Mitelberg)AKA Tim , who drew a caricature, something the French are so well known for,  of a  Jew in concentration-camp clothing in a Napoleon pose, with one foot on barbed wire.  The daily Le Monde printed it.  It's kept by a well-known Israeli , Avi Pazner, to remind him that De Gaulle, by choosing the Arabs over Israel and his anti-Semitic remark, laid the groundwork for Europe's changing attitude toward Israel and the Jews. "Tim first achieved world fame in 1967 with his illustration of the words of General de Gaulle, a Roman Catholic,  describing the Jewish people as "domineering and sure of itself": a skeleton-thin man in the striped garb of the concentration camp inmates throwing out his chest in a swaggering attitude, with his foot on the barbed wire fence." Europe has followed in France's footsteps as throwing Israel aside, certainly in the UN.

Buchenwald Concentration Camp 1945 and starved Jews
Retired Israeli diplomat Avi Pazner, is that well-known person.  He remembers Charles De Gaulle saying that Jews were a domineering and arrogant people.  Until the Six Day War in 1967, De Gaulle kept close relations with Israel, but after the end of the Algerian War, he warmed up to the Arab world.   The Algerian War lasted from 1954 to 1962.  "The conflict shook the foundations of the weak and unstable French Fourth Republic (1946–58) and led to its replacement by the Fifth Republic with a strengthened Presidency, with Charles de Gaulle acting in the latter role.  Algeria was then free from the French.

He chose between the 2 worlds because he thought that Arabs were more important to France than Israel.  The Arabs had oil and money.

In the UN's General Assembly in 2013, France voted along with the USA 53 times, and opposed the USA vote 15 times.  They carried a record of 77.9% in agreement.
Belgium in 2013 voted 70% of the time with the USA.

Israel, on the other hand, voted the same as the USA 71 times and opposed their vote only 4 times, carrying a record of 94.7% in agreement.
Voting against the USA most times were the Arabs in the UN.  In 2005 Egypt voted with the USA 9% of the time.  In 2008 they voted 7% of the time.  In 2010 they voted 31% of the time, and in 2013 they voted 25% of the time in agreement with the USA.

It was France and Belgium who have been hit outside of the Middle East on Europe's soil by IS. All that pandering to the Arabs may have bought them more oil, but not safety.

French Jewish Day School Victims in Toulouse:
On 19 March 2012, four people, including three children, were killed at the Ozar Hatorah Jewish day school. The killer was an Algerian Muslim, Mohammed Merah,  who said he attacked the Jewish school because "the Jews kill our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

Then there was the January 10, 2015 attack in Paris that killed 4 Jews in the Kosher Deli on a Friday morning who were buying Challah and such for Shabbat.

France had been the first European country for Jews to enter from Rome and the fall of Jerusalem in in 70 CE.  The famous biblical scholar, RASHI, was born in Troyes, France in 1040 and died there in 1105. France has had the largest Jewish population in Europe with 475,000 in 2014 which is 1 out of every 139 Frenchmen.  Now, more than ever, many are leaving for Israel.  France is not doing enough to stop anti-Semitism.  Instead, the more Muslims have entered, the conditions have worsened to a critical point.

Domineering and sure of ourselves, are we?  Yes, we know who we are and what we stand for.  We knew before we had our own state after waiting for 2,000 years.  We knew what we had been selected for by G-d, but certainly not by the Nazis.  We must have leadership capabilities, for so many of us have won the Nobel Prize.  What you mistake for being domineering, I see as those rare skillls of leadership.  De Gaulle, I hear lots of jealousy in those words of yours.    De Gaulle's own Frenchmen said he himself had "egoism, pride, aloofness, guile,” and  according to sociologist and historian Raymond Aron; threw in “empiricism, intuition, flexibility of mind if not of soul,” and this was said one of the most perceptive of his biographers, Jean Lacouture.

1967 and De Gaulle had kept close relations with Israel, and then the Algerian crisis was happening at the same time.  He lost interest in Israel.   "In May 1968, violent demonstrations by university students shook de Gaulle's government. A general strike followed, paralysing France and jeopardising the Fifth Republic. De Gaulle held elections and the country rallied to him, ending the crisis. In April 1969, De Gaulle resigned the presidency after losing a referendum on a reform proposal. He retired to his estate at Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises and died of a heart attack on 9 November 1970.  Since 1967, Europe has moved steadily away after the awesome win of Israel.  They had now chosen the new underdog, the Palestinians who only had 48 other Muslim majority states cheering and egging them into attacks against Israel.

1947 UN Plans For Palestine And Arabs' Refusal

Nadene Goldfoot
"UNSCOP (3 September 1947; see green line) and UN Ad Hoc Committee (25 November 1947) partition plans. The UN Ad Hoc Committee proposal was voted on in the resolution." This is the worst plan I have seen for Israel, yet our leaders were ready for acceptance with a few minor changes.  The plan was not  implemented because the Arabs attacked immediately and War broke out.
68 years ago on November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly met to pass or fail Resolution 181.  It was the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine.  This was to create an independent Arab and an independent Jewish state on the land west of the Jordan River and to divide Jerusalem between the 2 parties.    For 30 years, this land had been held by Great Britain who had the mandate for it through the League of Nations which was passed onto the UN.

The countries against this were:  Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, the neighboring states of today's Israel.  Also voting against the 2 states were Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Turkey, Afghanistan, and  Pakistan, India and Greece.  Cuba also voted against it being against most things others voted for.  That made 14 against.

Some countries remained neutral, not wanting to anger the opposition and not caring to back a Jewish state.  The United Kingdom was on this list.  Also abstaining were Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador,  the Central American states.  Argentine, Chile and  Colombia, the South American states, and China, Ethiopia and Yugoslavia also abstained.  That was 10 noncommittal states not wanting to "mix in."

Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela voted yes.
Argentina, Chile and Columbia abstained.
The supporting states were The United States, Canada,  New Zealand, Australia, Union of South Africa, USSR (Russia),  Byelorussian SSR, Ukrainian SSR,  France, Belgium,  Czechoslovakia, Luxemburg,  Poland,  Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands,  the Central American states of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama; and South American states of Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.   Iceland, Liberia, the Philippines, Dominican Republic and Haiti  also voted yes.  That was 33 states backing Israel as a state.

The Arabs didn't want a state at this time.  It wasn't until after 1967 and again after 1973, wars the Muslim countries and the Palestinians started, that they decided to push for a state, but on their terms only,

Though the Jews accepted the plan, the Arabs did not.  "Arab leaders and governments rejected the plan of partition in the resolution and indicated an unwillingness to accept any form of territorial division.  They argued that it violated the principles of national self-determination in the UN charter which granted people the right to decide their own destiny."   They reacted with immediate violence.  Since then they have been against any proposal brought up.

In April 1948, units of Arab irregulars crossed into the country from Syria, Lebanon and Egypt to reinforce local Arabs in their attacks on Jewish villages, towns and cities.  They tried to block the main roads.

1948 and Golda Meir is following the vote.

May 14, 1948 is when the Brits left Palestine and Jews announced the birth of Israel.  Jews had been attacked since November 29, 1947 in their War of Independence.  Israel was immediately invaded after their announcement by the regular armies of Egypt, Transjordan, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.  A Saudi-Arabian contingent also came.  The next day, Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League announced from Cairo:  THIS WILL BE A WAR OF EXTERMINATION AND A MOMENTOUS MASSACRE WHICH WILL BE SPOKEN OF LIKE THE MONGOLIAN MASSACRES AND CRUSADES.
1948 Jewish soldiers fighting in Katamon, Jerusalem

Was it what he wished on Israel something that boomeranged on themselves?  They lost the battle.  Israel won.  Israel only had 650,000 people then.  Their army was 5 minutes old and of course poorly equipped, but they managed to drive back the invading forces.  Their little army penetrated into the Sinai peninsula in order to drive out the Egyptian invaders.

War of Independence 1948

Jewish Commanders and leaders at this time were David Ben-Gurion, Yaakov Dori, Yigael Yadin, Yigal Allon and Menachem Begin.  Ben-Gurion served for 2 days until Chaim Weizmann was voted in as President on May 16, 1948 and he stayed in until February 17, 1949.

Jews lost 6,000 Israelis who were killed in the War of Independence, more than in all the next wars combined.

The violence did not stop until the signing of Armistice Agreements in 1949.  It was temporary, since war broke out again in 1956, 1967, and 1973.

Egypt made peace on March 26, 1979.
Jordan's King Hussein made peace on October 26, 1994.

COUNTRIES THAT VOTED AGAINST CREATION OF ISRAEL IN 1948; No Peace with Israel

Syria is down to a little bit of their own land with President Assad.  IS has taken over much of the land.
Iraq is overrun by IS. Fighting in their land has been going on since 2001.
Lebanon is overrun by Hezbollah terrorism.
Yemen has been overrun by terrorists, Houthi rebels.   Saudi Arabia attacked hospital.
Afghanistan and Pakistan have had fighting in their lands by the Taliban terrorism,  Russians and Americans.  They have been suffering.
Turkey has angered Russia, filled with terrorists.
Saudi Arabia has never allowed Jews in their country but may have to ally with Israel against Iran.
Cuba has suffered from isolation, now Americans will be visiting.
Greece has suffered from financial problems.
India is making friends with Israel.

Apartheid Debunked in Israel-Before 1973's War: A Most Pluralistic Democratic Society

Nadene Goldfoot

Israel today is made up of 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Arabs.  These are all 100% citizens. Those born in 1972 would today be 43 years old, probably parents of the young men who are drafted at age 18 above.

Druze in IDF
Druze in Israel
Back in 1972's census, only 24 years after its birth, there were 3.2 million people in the state of which 2.7 million were Jews which was 85% and there were only 359,000 Muslims which was 11.2%, about the same percent as USA's black population.  All or nearly all of the Muslims were Arabs.  About 80,000 were Christian Arabs (2.4%) and about 39,000 were Druzes and others which was 1.3%.  Druzes are an Arab group that separated from Islam the 10th century.

1949 armistice-Purple is Israel
In 1949 at the end of the Israeli War  of Independence, there were only some 160,000 Arabs.  Natural growth was one cause of a big increase.  Another was due to the readmission of thousands who fled when the Arab states attacked Israel and then returned.  Those who didn't remain in refugee camps supported by UNRWA.

Citizens are anyone who lived in Israel in 1948  when Israel announced her rebirth on May 14th.  This is also when the Brits' mandate of 30 years was up.  Conditions are that if they stayed, they are citizens.  Anyone  else who wants to be a citizen must wait for 3 years.  In the USA a person waits and studies to pass an exam for 5 years.  It is the homeland of the Jewish people, so Jews are the exception, coming under the Law of Return.  Thus, any Jewish immigrant from any country will be admitted and made a citizen if they wish without waiting the 3 years.

Soon after moving into my Safed apartment in 1980
My husband and I weren't aware of this, even though my husband was a history teacher in high school in Oregon.  We waited for 5 years and then filed.  Luckily, in the USA one can have dual citizenship.

Because of the Arabs living in Israel, Arabic has official status along with Hebrew, the  language spoken in Biblical days and used for prayer in synagogues ever since since our writings are mostly in Hebrew.  Hebrew was revived in the 1880s as a spoken language in Eretz Yisrael.  It is helping to unite Jews from all over the world.
Knesset in Jerusalem, Israel's Capital

In the Knesset (building of legislature), Arab members speak Arabic.  All Knesset proceedings are conducted with simultaneous translation from Hebrew into Arabic or vice versa just like in the UN.  Citizens may use Arabic in any court of law or government office.  The USA doesn't even have this procedure for Spanish speakers.

Hebrew
Arabic
Arab children attended schools where classes were conducted in Arabic and where Arab history and culture were freely taught.  My personal opinion is that this should have been stopped and public schooling should be required.  The reason is that in Judea and Samaria, hate is still taught for Jews.  Maps show Palestine but not Israel.  There will never be  a national spirit of love for Israel by the Arabs with exceptions for Druze and a few others.  The way Muslims have been acting in Jerusalem lately, knifing the population there, shows that these attackers are following the dictates of otherMuslims who want an uprising.  They have become brainwashed to hatred.
I entered the scene in 1980 and by 1981-1985 was teaching English.

Circassians in Israel
I had a mixture of Jewish and a few Circassian students in  the jr. high  public school in Safed.   Everyone had a choice of studying French or Arabic and all had to study English. In Haifa there was a Jewish-Arab school as well as a large center for joint Jewish-Arab sports groups, art groups, meetings and exhibitions.  The study of Arab history and culture was an integral part of the curriculum in Jewish schools.   .

The country then had 24 daily papers.  4 were in Arabic.  Many Arabic books and some 20 Arabic magazines were published.  The TV and radio featured daily programs in Arabic.  Besides that, in Safed we were able to get TV from Egypt, Lebanon and Syria, of course all in Arabic.  The only censoring going on was on matters involving military security.

There were Arab-Jewish cultural centers, usually privately run, was increased and fostering creativeness of Israeli Arabs in Drama, literature and painting.  After Jews from Europe or the USA came to live in Israel, they became more conscious of Arab culture and tradition, so interaction was increasing.  Since 1962, a Jewish-Arab summer camp for youth had been held in Akko "Acre." Jews who came to Israel via Arab countries had been kicked out and had to leave penniless. 850,000 Jews had been living in Arab lands before Israel's statehood.   Most all are now living in either Israel or the USA.   They were 2nd class citizens there, called Dhimmis.  Those Jews were very used to living with Arabs.  I find it's the Arabs who have a hard time accepting Jews who in their eyes were always lower classes than themselves.  They have a hard time accepting the fact that they now have their own country.

Mosque of Omar in Jerusalem
Israel treated religious groups as private associations but also as entities with official standing.  They took care of marriage and divorce of the groups.  Each one has its own system of courts to deal with these according to its religious law; the Rabbinical, Muslim, Druze, Roman Catholic, etc.  Members of the Muslim clergy of about 200 in 1972 were paid by the State, like the clergy of other faiths.  Regular services were held in some 90 mosques, and Muslim Friday prayers were broadcast on the national radio.

Though Saturday is the official Jewish Sabbath and is the official day of rest in Israel like Sunday used to be in the USA, Muslims and Christians have the option, under law, to close their places of work instead on either Friday or Sunday, respectively.

In 1972, public service and public office by Arabs was fairly low but growing because now Arabs are able to finish high school.  There were about 5,000 Arabs among the nation's civil service employees who number around 70,000.  Arabs and Druzes served routinely as magistrates.  About 50,000 Druze were living in Israel as of 1992 and were concentrated in 18 villages in the western Galilee and on Mt. Carmel.  They cooperated with the Israel forces during and since 1948's War of Independence and they now sit in the Knesset.

The Knesset has 120 members.  In 1972,  4 were Arabs and 1 was a Druze.  The Minister of Health, Abdul Aziz Zuabi, is an Arab .  Seif Aldin Alzuabi was a former Speaker of the Knesset. Jaber Muadi, former Deputy of communications, is a Druze.

Police needed at Mosque where they do not allow Jews to pray
Israel's Police Force has Bedouin Arabs, Druzes and other minority groups as members.  The Police force performs ordinary police duties and also works with the Army in guarding the borders against infiltrators.  In 1973 there were 1,287 Arabs and Druzes in a total force of 13,882 Police.

Israel is understanding of people's emotions.  To avoid one's conscience conflicting, exemptions to serve in the IDF (Israel Defense Force)  is given to certain ethnic and religious groups.  The Druze, Circassians (Muslim sect)  decided they do not want to be exempted from the draft.  Most Arabs, however, both Muslims and Christians, do make use of the exemptions.  Individuals are free to volunteer for service and some do each year.

Political Parties are many in this multiparty system.  The Mapam party and communist Party have Arabs on their slates of candidates.  Israel's Labor Party (Golda Meier) offers special slates of Arab candidates.  There are also exclusive Arab parties.  Many people do cross ethnic lines so many Arabs voted for the Labor Party in  1972.  Before Israel was created, pre 1948 days, there was almost no Arab local government.  Only 3 towns had local councils.  By 1972 there were 2 local council and 46 local councils that were Arab or Druze.  Another 27 Arab villages had representation in council with mixed Arab-Jewish membership.  More than 82% of Israeli Arabs lived in places with home rule.

Subarus were popular in Israel.  We had one.
All citizens could travel in Israel without licenses or permits.  They were also free to leave and return with just passport requirements.  One catch, Arab states do not allow Israelis entrance.  Israel allowed citizens of Arab states entrance, however, even places like Syria who were hostile to her.  They could enter for pilgrimages, family visits and other peaceful purposes.  By 1974, about 250,000 persons entered Israel on that basis.

No matter who you were, all received the same wages for the same work.

Synagogue in Israel built in 1906-Knesseth Israel
Then came Yom Kippur and the  October 6, 1973 War.  This was the holiest day of the year, every year.  Egypt and Syria attacked Israel and were on Israel's borders. At least 9 Arab states, including 4 non-Middle Eastern nations, actively aided the war effort.  The least enthusiastic one was Jordan and king Hussein who must have been kept uninformed of Egyptian and Syrian war plans.  He sent his 40th and 60th armored Brigades---to Syria.  They were stationed on the Amman-Damascus route and attacked Israeli positions along the Kuneitra-Sassa road on October 16th.  3 Jordanian artillery batteries also were in the fight carried out by almost 100 tanks.

On the Golan Heights where so many Druze lived, about 180 Israeli tanks faced 1,400 Syrian tanks.  Along the Suez Canal, less than 500 Israeli IDF wee attacked by 80,000 Egyptians.  Russians put their money on the Arabs winning the war.  So did the UN Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim who had served in the German army and was even guilty of war crimes in the Balkans.  He had such a record that he was barred from the USA when he became president of Austria.  I tell you this because it was then the UN who then voted to end all military activity when Israel had cut off and isolated the Egyptian 3rd Army and could have destroyed it.  Note that at this time, the Arabs and Jews were doing remarkably  well in Israel, but the Arab nations could not abide this.

North African countries responded to Arab and Soviet calls to help Egypt and Syria.  Algeria sent 3 aircraft squadrons of fighters and bombers, an armored brigade and 150 tanks.  About 1,000-2,000 Tunisian soldiers were stationed in the Nile Delta.  Sudan had 3,500 troops in southern Egypt, and Morocco sent 3 brigades to the front lines including 2,500 men to Syria.  Lebanon had radar units that Syria used.  They also allowed Palestinian terrorists to shell Israeli civilian villages and towns from its territory.  Oh yes, the Palestinians were right in there on the Southern Front with the Egyptians and Kuwaitis.  Another miracle happened.  Israel won.

Thus, Europe has been condemning Israel since then as an apartheid state when it has never treated Arabs in such a manner.  We follow the Golden Rule:  Don't do to others what you don't want done to you, something that was never followed for them while living in the Arab states.  24 years after living through Arab attacks and wars from 1947-1949, 1956, 1967, and then again in 1973, and by 1972 they were getting along well. Actually, it was Apartheid that was enacted against the Jews living in Arab lands up until 1948.  All during the 2,000 years of living outside of Eretz Yisrael, a form of Apartheid was practiced on the Jews of Europe, and yes, even in the USA.  When a people are not allowed jobs, clubs, etc, this is apartheid and it happened to Jews for a long time.  It's another reason Jews need their own state.

Amidst fighting wars, Israel managed to bring in 1,400,000 immigrant Jews in 24 years from conception.  Starting with a core of 650,000 tired Jews in May 1948 fresh out of the holocaust and mixed in with the Sabras, they grew to 3,164,000 by May 1972 and out of these, 1,400,000 were immigrants which are called olim.  They came in 4 major waves of immigration, with the first wave from Poland, Bulgaria and Czechoslovakia.  Then came the immigrants from the Arab countries from Iraq, Yemen, and Libya.  Thirdly came Jews from Morocco, Tunisia, Poland and other countries.  Romanian Jews came under a family reunification plan, so in the 60's came eastern Europeans and North Africans.  After the 6 Day War of 1967 came Jews from North and South america, Western Europe and Russia.  by late 1972, 200,000 immigrants had arrived.  Lastly, I made aliyah in 1980, with others, of course.  Israel has never known real peace.  Neighboring states have refused to accept her very existence, causing 4 major wars on this tiny state.  It's taken all this time to have 2 peaceful neighbors now, Jordan and Egypt.  May they keep the peace.

Letter to UN: The Golan Heights and Why Syria Must Not Get Them Back

Nadene Goldfoot
Syrian missiles lined up and ready to be aimed at Israel

When Syria held the Golan Heights, 1,200 sq km,  they managed to keep it relatively quiet since 1974 when they realized that Israel's artillery range could reach Damascus.  What Syria had done was  to support many terrorist groups that try to attack Israel from Lebanon--and occasionally from Syria.  Now that they have the problem of their own people turning against the Syrian government as well as ISIS taking the northern part of Syria their missiles could fall into either hands and thus be turned against Israel.

The groups Syria  had been backing were the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP);  the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP);  Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC).  I might say that Syria's backing of such groups as led to her near demise of today's situation.  In trying to destroy Israel, Syria is about to be entirely destroyed, for here is an even more evil and hateful group-ISIS, taking most of the country.  The only place left Assad is holding onto that matters is Damascus.

Then there was an indication that Syria might allow terrorists such as ISIS to escalate the situation.  In 1991, DFLP terrorists from Syria attacked an Israeli border post on Mt. Hermon, killing an Israeli soldier.  Another raid just like that one happened 2 months later in September 1991.  Several DFLP terrorists were then killed.

About 60 miles away in Western Golan where it is an easy ride to Haifa and Acre, lies Israel's industrial heartland.  The Golan Heights rises from 400 to 1700 feet in the western section which borders on pre-1967 Israel.  It overlooks the Huleh Valley, Israel's agricultural area.  If the Golan is controlled by hostile neighbor, Syria, it can again become a strategic nightmare for Israel.  I feel that is what the UN is actually aiming for.

Before 1967 and the War, Israel's agricultural towns in the Galilee came under fire from the Golan.  The Golan is high and could just rain down bombs.  Counter battery fires were limited for Israel by the lack of observation from the Huleh Valley.  Air attacks were degraded by Syrian positions that could dig in with strong overhead cover.  A ground attack against the position would need major forces with risks of high casualties.  All this could cause severe political repercussions in the UN!  You of course will blame Israel for their own defense.

In 1967 when Israel was attacked from the Golan, it suffered 115 dead, the same number of Americans killed during Operation Desert Storm.

In 1992, Syria had 300,000 troops--75% of its army station on the Israeli front near the Golan Heights.  We see that Assad still has control over the heads of Arab states voting on this in the UN, for it's he that dreams of getting the Golan Heights back.

IDF guarding the Golan Heights-January 2015
If Israel gave the Golan back to a hostile Syria, it would show that the UN favors Assad and that he should stay in power.  It would jeapardize Israel's early-warning system against a surprise attack.  Israel has radars on Mt. Hermon which is the highest point in the Golan.  They would then lose almost all their strategic importance.

As from past experience, nothing Israel would offer to do today would help Syria or Assad.  One has to remember that ISIS is planning on hitting Assad and taking over all the area.  Coming out with such a resolution at this point in time is irresponsible and only shows your determination to also destroy Israel.

Syria's President still, Hafez Assad, has indicated no change to go beyond agreeing to a far more limited "non-belligerency" deal with Israel.   He could not be trusted, anyway.   Has Assad kept his word in the Middle East?  He has attacked his own cities and has gassed his own people.  He has no limit on his degree of punishing people.

No.  Israel needs to retain military control over the Golan Heights in order for the people there and Israel to enjoy peace.  On December 114, 1981, Israel passed a statute enacted by the Knesset that extended Israeli civilian law and administration to the people of the Golan which replaced military authority that had ruled from 1967.

Syria went on for 14 years to refuse to negotiate a treaty of peace.  Professor Julius Stone of Hastings College of the Law wrote the following for the Knesset.
"There is no rule of international law which requires a lawful military occupant, in this situation, to wait forever before making control and government of the territory permanent.  ....Many international lawyers have wondered, indeed, at the patience which led Israel to wait as long as she did."
In January of 2015, "

"Israeli security forces return fire after two rockets allegedly fired from Syria hit region that has become flash point.   Tensions have soared along the ceasefire line since a January 18 air strike attributed to Israel killed six Hezbollah fighters and an Iranian general near Quneitra in Syria.

In August, five rockets fired from Syria hit the Israeli-occupied sector of the Golan Heights and, in July, Israel shelled Syrian army positions when a rocket struck its territory."

On Sunday, September  27, 2015 " Israel struck Syrian army targets on the Golan Heights and Israel said it was retaliating for cross-border rocket fire from the Syrian War next door."   Now we have the UN coming up with returning the land to a non-existent country, Syria who has not been able to keep its land from ISIS.

Jews Attacked by Terrorists and Killed in 2015

Nadene Goldfoot
Beitar Illit, the largest city in Gush Etzion

2- Monday, November 23rd saw 2 deaths happen.  21 year old Hadar Buchris died from stabbing in a bus stop in Gush Etzion and died in the hospital.  The terrorist was shot and killed by Israeli security forces.  A 20 year old Israeli soldier was also stabbed in his stomach to death at a gas station by a Palestinian.  2 others were wounded.  The terrorist was killed.

Gush Etzion is a legal Jewish community in Judea-Samaria near Jerusalem. It has been the scene of terrorist knifing attacks this past month.  "Gush Etzion (Hebrewגּוּשׁ עֶצְיוֹןlit. Etzion Bloc) is a cluster of Jewish communities located in the Judaean Mountains directly south of Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the Judean Hills. The core group includes four Jewish agricultural villages that were founded in 1940-1947 on property purchased in the 1920s and 1930s, and destroyed by the Arab Legion before the outbreak of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, in the Kfar Etzion massacre. The area was left outside of Israel with the 1949 armistice lines. These settlements were rebuilt after the 1967 Six-Day War, along with new communities that have expanded the area of the Etzion Bloc. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.  As of 2011Gush Etzion consisted of 22 "cities and towns" with a population of 70,000.  The international community is not following the international law that Israel is following.

"Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on November 23, 2015, that there had been 74 stabbings, 10 shootings, and 11 car-ramming attacks against Israelis during the recent uptick in violence beginning on October 1.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry traveled to Israel in November 2015 for the first time in over a year, with plans of meeting with Netanyahu and strategizing to stop the wave of violence. Kerry asked the Israelis to discontinue construction of settlements on disputed land, and stressed that the Palestinian leaders needed to stop incitement of violence against Israelis. "

This is something that the USA under Obama has been harping for constantly as if this is the answer to Palestinian terrorism that has been going on since 1947 when it wasn't till 1967 when attacked on all fronts and Israel won that the USA and Palestinians have been upset over Jews living in their own ancient lands.  Remember, this was part of the original land promised to Jews to be the Jewish Homeland.  Palestinians have been so brain-washed by their leadership that they deny that Jews had ever been on the land.  They think they just hatched out of Europe.  Many have argued with me over my historic articles with this in mind. Their schools teach such things.  Their maps do not ever show that Israel is Israel.  They only show the map from a Palestinian perspective.

1-Wednesday, November 4th:  Staff Sergeant Benjamin Yaakovovich,19  was in his car when a Palestinian terrorist purposely rammed into him and he was so seriously injured that he died 4 days later from the wounds.  It happened near either Judea or Samaria.  "(Updated Nov. 9) Nov. 4, 2015, 4:12 pm —  A soldier was struck by a vehicle driven by a Palestinian terrorist near the West Bank. 1929 massacre of Jews where 700 Jews were still living. After 1967 War, Jews again moved back creating Kiryat Arba quarter east of the city;  with 3,00 Jews in 1988.

There are two schools in the town: a boys' school and girls' school with roughly 1,050 students each.  Could the rock throwers have been from these schools?  Probably.

Beersheba
1-Sunday, October 18th, soldier Omri Levi 19 in Beersheba  was shot by Palestinian terrorist Muhanad Alukabi who took Omri's rifle and shot and killed him.  Then he opened fire at a crowded bus station and shot 11 other people.  A 2nd attacker was suspected who turned out to be an Eritrean immigrant who as shot by an Israeli security guard and then beaten and in serious condition, possibly  to death by a nearby mob.

Until 1860, when the Jewish neighborhood Mishkenot Sha'ananim was established, this area constituted the entire city of Jerusalem."

Itamar

The children were lightly injured. "The 4-month-old baby, and four-year-old, seven-year-old and nine-year-old boys, were taken with light injuries to a nearby medical center for further treatment."  Itamar (Hebrewאִיתָמָר) is an Israeli settlement located in the West Bank's Samarian mountains,
Five kilometers southeast of Nablus (Shechem) in Joshua's day was belonging to the tribe of Ephriam and a levitical city and a city of refuge, center of the House of Joseph who is buried here.  .  . The predominantly Orthodox Jewish community with a population of 1,024 (2012) falls in part  within the municipal jurisdiction of the Shomron Regional Council.  Under the terms of the Oslo Accords of 1993 between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, Itamar was designated Area "C" under full Israeli civil and security control.
Do you wonder why this land is important to Jews?  It's the land of our history.  Everything in our bible happened here.  Judea and Samaria were originally called Israel, then when King Solomon died, and  the southern part separated to be called Judah since the largest tribe, our tribe, lived here.  Samaria was to be the new capital of Israel while Jerusalem stayed with Judah.

There have been 19 deaths by Palestinian terrorism in just 2 months in Israel
Update:  11/30/15 6:50pm  The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that, according Magen David Adom, 22 people were murdered and 211 were wounded, including 21 seriously wounded, on the streets of Israel since mid-September. The latest data available from the Israel Defense Forces shows that, as of November 29, there have been 80 stabbings, 29 shootings and 10 car rammings.
