Do You Really Want To Doubt Mossad's Information ?

Nadene Goldfoot

Mossad agent, Ziva David in NCIS
Israel receives its information from one of the best sources in the world;  the Mossad.  They've had lots of practice in covert intelligence gathering beyond their borders and doing it successfully.  Their  motto is from Proverbs: " Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety."

How is it then, that today some people are not listening?  Israel warned Kenya before the Nairobi attack.  They weren't the only ones, either.  Islamist terrorists were known to be planning this attack.  They had automatic weapons and grenades and went into the upscale Westgate mall in Nairobi in a 4 day attack and left at least 67 people dead.  Israel had close security ties with Kenya and the mall was partially owned by an Israeli.  Israel warned Kenya as early as late last year and then again this September.  Mossad knew about Iran and Hezbollah from Lebanon collecting intelligence and had been showing great interest in Israeli and Jewish targets around the world, including Kenya.  Kenya is being very casual in answering.  They had been warned of specific targets. Being so casual cost many lives.

Last year at the UN Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel spoke about the Iranian threat of enriching uranium.  The reason he is worried for Israel's sake is that Iran has threatened through last year's president Ahmadinejad to exterminate Israel.  This was profane and were direct cat-calls of the gravest of threats.  Ahmadinejad was the mouthpiece for the Ayatollahs who rule things in the theocratic oil-rich Iran.  Their goal is really not to use atomic energy to run electricity but to make atomic weapons, and one looms in our sight from the recent past; an atomic bomb.
Obama has been supportive of  Israel.  Our friend to the end.  We could count on the USA  .However, Obama spoke 5 days ago at the UN and made a clear connection between the Iranian bomb and the Israeli occupation, as he calls it.  He made this comment after changing his mind in mid-stream of bombing the chemical supply Syria has after Syria had demonstrated the deadliness of it by chemical attacks on their own people happened killing hundreds.  Russia, our evil empire opposer, came to the rescue and offered their counseling which was accepted.  Now Russia has the upper seat in the world of power.  Rouhani has grasped at this straw of  opportunity and is offering sweetness and light.  He's even hinting that Israel could be included in the party if only they would give up all of Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem, a 1/4th of their capital.  That would make Iran huge in the Middle East world.  To those with an atomic bomb comes power!

In this recent speech to the UN  Obama intimated that Israel's security as a Jewish state depended on the creation of Palestine.  To Israel, this was a giant affront.  Israel Katz, Transportation Minister, said that Israel's existence does not depend on anything, especially not the Palestinians. I'll insert that we have had the help of G-d and pray to still have it.   I add that we can't depend on Palestinians for peaceful existence when they refuse to recognize Israel as a legitimate Jewish state in their midst.    They are raining rockets, missiles and mortars down on southern Israel sporadically now and those in Judea and Samaria are still creating terrorist attacks on Israelis.  Katz went on to say that the US did help Israel, but it is Israel who defends themselves with their own force. Israel gets aid from them and weapons, but at the same time the USA is arming enemies of Israel as well. Needless to say, Israel pays back much of their loans as well.  It's becoming a business with the USA.  There are no freebees in life. The old "I owe my soul to the company store" become more real.   Through this speech, Obama has taken the opposing side by pushing down Israel's throat premature concessions.

Israel wants peace but will not take unnecessary risks and will not accept any solution that endangers their existence.  I add that they been there and have done that several times already, much to their regret.  Gaza is one of them.  This shows that Israel can depend on only one thing for their survival:  themselves which includes the knowledge they gather.

Obama was elated with Rouhani's phone call after being snubbed for 3 days at the UN by him.  He is now so optimistic about having talks with Rouhani about its nuclear program and resolving this issue before his term is up.  That is something for the history books; that he went out in style, saving the world from Israel's action of attacking the uranium site.  He feels this is the opportunity to make progress with the new leadership in Tehran.

Rouhani is Khamenei's lackey assigned the job to find a way to lure the West into negotiations which will prove as valuable as "Peace in Our Time, " said in 1938 about  a deal brought on by the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlin when Germany was a threat. He thought he had a peace deal.    Germany moved in and occupied Sudentenland  the day after his speech.

Rouhani wants the sanctions lifted.  Obama did add that only "meaningful, transparent and verifiable actions" regarding their nuclear program could bring about a decision to lift the sanctions. Rouhani is a master manipulator.  Ed Royce, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, pointed out that Rouhani dragged out negotiations with Europe 10 years ago as the chief nuclear point man for Iran.  While they dickered, Iran did not stop their centrifuges from spinning.  They were probably set at max speed.  Rouhani has answered questions with, "We have never chosen deceit as a path.  We have never chosen secrecy."   Yet he had a slip of the tongue when he let out the comment that "we wanted to keep it secret for a while, speaking about their nuclear program in 2004 when spies exposed it.  So the old question comes into play, WHO DO YOU TRUST?   We know that Israel does not and would feel a lot safer if economic sanctions continued to be imposed on Iran  in order to bring about a stoppage of their uranium program for bombs.  Is Rouhani calling "Uncle?"

I suppose everyone will dismiss the fact that Iran is the world's leader state sponsor of terrorism and uses proxies like Hezbollah by funding, supplying weapons, training and giving sanctuary to terrorist groups.  Since this is a religious Shi'a government, their religion dictates their agenda as the Ayatollah perceives it.

One must be knowledgeable about their background and religious ideals to understand their position.   Their theocratic rule is saying that chaos will bring the return of the 12th Imam, the direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad who will return just before the end of the world.  Before that happens, there is to be a few years of world chaos.  So this is expected and probably desired by them.  Khamenei called Israel the "Little Satan" and wishes to see Israel destroyed in order to bring about the 12th Iman.  He said, "I see Israel as the Zionist regime that is a cancerous tumor that should be cut and will be cut, G-d willing."  Ahmadinejad echoed this numerous times.  One must remember that the USA is seen as the Great Satan, both being the mortal enemies of the 12th Imam.  So they wait in anticipation for their Mahdi.

Do you really not care if Iran gets the power to build an A Bomb?  Being Mossad has knowledge of how soon they will be prepared and the window of opportunity will become closed, do you want to waste this valuable time?  Remember, Netanyahu has given the world full warning.  Now it is up to the world to join Israel in prevention of another destructive weapon in the hands of insincere people.  Rouhani is not an up-front guy.  Don't be like Kenya and take it all so casually.

Anti Zionism, Anti Semitism: It's All the Same, Isn't It

Nadene Goldfoot

After the First World War in 1917, Hannah Arendt, Jewish German-American  political theorist and philosopher,   told a joke:
John  An anti-Semite claimed that it was the Jews who had caused WWI.
Henry, his friend answered:  "Yes, the Jews and the bicyclists."
John:  "Why the bicyclists?"
Henry:  "Why the Jews?"

Yes, why is it that Jews have had to suffer, who are the objects of the longest hatred, which  historian Robert Wistrich has dubbed it.  " Wistrich is "a leading scholar of the history of anti-Semitism."  He is the Neuburger Professor of European and Jewish History at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and head of the International Center of Anti-Semitism.  The web is full of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism.  Just check out facebook.  The opportunity springs at every chance.
The Jewish people have stood out as being different ever since they broke away from Ur in Iraq with Abraham in the 2nd millennium BCE who circumcised Isaac at 8 days of age. These strange people who only believed in one God were a standout from the crowd, all right.  Everyone else knew there were a multitude of gods to pay tribute to.  These were stubborn stiff-necked people.  They wouldn't bend.  They were called the Chosen People with the 10 commandments.  What people didn't understand was they they were chosen to bear the responsibility of being an  example, not that they were better than other people. Then they had committed the ultimate crime.  They killed Jesus.  I still haven't heard the end of that accusation, which we have denied to the fullest.  We all know it was the Romans who put him on the cross, of which thousands of Jews had previously been under the same punishment in the days of occupation of Judah by them.  We have been finally forgiven for that sin which we did not do nor are responsible for by the Pope, and are grateful for his kindness.  To kill a god still does not compute in my weak mind, but that be as it may, was the feeling that is found even in the "New Testament."  The Jew's lesson of love and forgive was not meant to include his people, evidently.

Even as recently as 1896, a French captain Dreyfus was on trial in enlightened France where a reporter, Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, thought that the reason of the anti-Semitism he was witnessing was the anomalous condition of the Jews:  a people without a polity of its own.

You see, the Jews had lost their country in 70 CE and had been living in other people's countries. going from one to the next, seeking refuge from just this;  anti-Semitism.  Their country had been Judah.  The Romans had conquered and burned down Jerusalem.  The northern part of their land had been called Israel and had been overcome in 721 BCE.  It was a much larger kingdom than Judah had been.  It had been in existence for 210 years.  Israel  had lost out because of constant warfare with the kingdom of Damascus (Syria) and both finally fell before the power that came along, Assyria.  Sargon captured  Israel's capital, Samaria, in 721 BCE which ended their freedom and history.   Thus, the start of the "Wandering Jew", or the captured Jew.

Herzl argued patiently for establishing a Jewish state.  He wrote a thesis called "The Jewish State" in 1896 which was published 2 years after the Dreyfus trial, where an innocent Jew was found guilty because he was used as the scapegoat of the French politicians and their enemy, Germany.  Herzl thought of  the creation of such a Jewish polity and predicted that a mass emigration to it of European Jews would spell the end of anti-Semitism.  His political treatise turned out to the one of the 20th century's most prescient books, but anti-Semitism has not stopped in Europe.  Herzl and most Zionists after him continued to believe that the emergence of a Jewish state was necessary,  as they had been witness to Russian pogroms, but some people are still convinced that anti-Semitism will end only with the disappearance of the Jewish state. One of the most orthodox Jewish groups in New York feel this way.  They have led a very insular life-style in the safest of all countries, the USA and are being used by the Muslims in their nasty propaganda.  .

Now that we have had Israel for the past 65 years, the notion continues that this is the primary cause of anti-Semitism, because the Arabs have reacted so violently at the Jewish return.  They seem to react viciously at the mere idea that Jews who had found some bit of refuge in Europe have no rights to their old homeland. In their mind, Euopean Jews have become tainted with European blood.  You see, the higher level Muslims intermarry with their relatives a great deal to keep their line pure, and they don't see the Ashkenazi Jews as being very pure.  They refuse to see them even as Jews.   The Belgian ambassador had the chutzpa to tell Natan Sharansky when he visited Israel that anti-Semitism in his country would end once Belgians no longer had to watch pictures on TV of Israeli Jews oppressing Palestinian Arabs.

Wrong.  Anti-Semitism is not the cause of this phenomenon that started over 2,000 years before.  However, it could be the cause of the contemporary anti-Semitism.  Arab propagandists, journalists and scholars now use the methods and vocabulary used to demonize European Jews for centuries.  Jews are again being called "Christ-killers" and have been charged with poisoning non-Jews.  There have been fabricating of blood libels and things similar.  In the Middle East where Christianity has been chased out daily by the Muslims, this lurid and time-worn Christian anti-Semitism is being used by Israel's 22 nation neighbors.
February 2003, the Egyptian government while at peace with Israel suddenly broadcast on its state-run TV a 41-part series based on the infamous Czarist forgery about a global Jewish conspiracy to dominate humanity, THE PROTOCALS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION.   This was left-over hatred propaganda from the Nazis that was being believed by the uneducated and educated Muslim nation.  To make sure they had high ratings, the show was shown at prime time when millions of families were breaking their traditional Ramadan fast.  The Arab satellite TV also rebroadcast the series to million of others in the Middle East, probably on Al Jazeera.

Now we see that anti-Semitism is in so many colleges and universities where the academia have bought into the condition to blame Jews for everything imaginable.  It's so much easier today than seeking out their own problems.  We even see our past Vice President, Al Gore,  purchase Al Jazeera TV of Qatar in English for a business of his which is now in the USA.  Just try to find a TV carrier that does not have it listed with them.

What is it, Soma, that was spoken of in the book of Brave New World?  It was the ultimate power to tame the masses and keep them satisfied so that the powers to be could do what they wanted?  Drugs, that's what young people today do.  They get stoned.  Then they don't have any worries or knowledge or cares.  Today we have luring TV news broadcasts claiming very one-sided opinions, usually in blaming Israel and making fun of somebody showing another idea, such as Fox News.  The world is just catching up to George Orwell's  1984. " public mind control, dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism (Ingsoc) under the control of a privileged Inner Party elite that persecutes all individualism and independent thinking as thought-crimes

I heard President Obama do just that today in his speech.  Everyone jeered at the name of Fox News as he spoke.  Yes, they are one of the few who have spoken out against anti-Semitism by defending Israel on many occasions.  City newspapers do the same thing, even down to the day they have to cut their losses and their paper delivery or when they close up shop completely and hang out the shingle-No more news.

The Jewish State of Israel, which came into being after the Holocaust, kept from being a refuge by the British for 6 million Jews who were gassed and burned, could have saved lives.  Our Herzl saw it coming but could not imagine the depths of the need nor the evilness of the world.  Israel came into being legitimately, being voted upon by the League of Nations.  Can the Arabs say that no one asked them?  No, they cannot, as Abdullah was the leader, the most educated of all the Arabs at that time.  He held all the power, and was all for the idea of the Jews' return.  He foresaw that his Arabs could learn from the industrious Jews and get educated that way.  In the end, the English did not speak straight with either party, him for the Arabs nor to the Jews, but left them both with high hopes that were dashed.

The Jews received about 20% of land that was promised to them-through the League of Nations.  Abdullah received that land which was on the east side of the Jordan River.  He had been promised his kingship for helping the British and Chaim Weizmann had been promised a state for his stateless Jews  who had been suffering from anti-Semitism for 2,000 years and his promise came because he had saved Britain with his invention that produced a better weapon in which to win the war in the first place.  So the old anti-Semitism crept in to color the tone of this business deal in the shuk.  Arabs suffered from no such condition. They never had their own country that they had lost to vile enemies, either.

Do You Really Want to Boycott Jewish Goods and Inventions?

Forwarded by Victor Sharpe

A short time ago, Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the Muslim world to boycott anything and everything that originates with the Jewish people.

In response, Meyer M. Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to assist them in their boycott as follows:

"A Muslim who has heart disease must not use Digitalis, a discovery by a Jew, Ludwig Traube.

Should he suffer with a toothache, he must not use Novocaine, a discovery of the Jews, Widal and Weil.

If a Muslim has Diabetes, he must not use Insulin, the result of research by Minkowsky, a Jew. If one has a headache, he must shun Pyramidon and Antypyrin, due to the Jews, Spiro and Ellege.

"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Ehrlich. He should not even try to find out whether he has Syphilis, because the Wasserman Test is the discovery of a Jew. If a Muslim suspects that he has Gonorrhea, he must not seek diagnosis, because he will be using the method of a Jew named Neissner.

Muslims with convulsions must put up with them because it was a Jew, Oscar Leibreich, who proposed the use of Chloral Hydrate.

Arabs must do likewise with their psychic ailments because Freud, father of psychoanalysis, was a Jew.

Should a Muslim child get Diphtheria, he must refrain from the “Schick" reaction which was invented by the Jew, Bella Schick.

"Muslims should be ready to die in great numbers and must not permit treatment of ear and brain damage, work of Jewish Nobel Prize winner, Robert Baram.

They should continue to die or remain crippled by Infantile Paralysis because the discoverer of the anti-polio vaccine is a Jew, Jonas Salk.

"Muslims must refuse to use Streptomycin and continue to die of Tuberculosis because a Jew, Zalman Waxman, invented the wonder drug against this killing disease.

Muslim doctors must discard all discoveries and improvements by dermatologist Judas Sehn Benedict, or the lung specialist, Frawnkel, and of many other world renowned Jewish scientists and medical experts.

In short, good and loyal Muslims properly and fittingly should remain afflicted with Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Heart Disease, Headaches, Typhus, Diabetes, Mental Disorders, Polio Convulsions and Tuberculosis and be proud to obey the Islamic boycott."

Oh, and by the way, don't call for a doctor on your cell phone because the cell phone was invented in Israel by a Jewish engineer.

Meanwhile I ask, what medical contributions to the world have the Muslims made?"

The Global Islamic population is approximately 1,200,000,000; that is ONE BILLION TWO HUNDRED MILLION or 20% of the world's population.

TOTAL: 129!

The Jews are NOT promoting brainwashing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews, Christians and all non-Muslims.

The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in restaurants.

There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a church.

There is NOT a single Jew who protests by killing people. The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them.

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, the following two sentences really say it all:

'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence.
If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel."

Benjamin Netanyahu: General Eisenhower warned us. It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population, which claims it never occurred.

It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear of Islamic triumphalism and violence that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now almost 70 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets. A big change just happened, however, at the UN yesterday.  Rouhani, the new president, just admitted that the Holocaust did happen to Christine Amapour of CNN.  Up till last week he had refused to recognize the horror as a historical fact.
How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center 'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim in the United States?

Threat to Entire World: How Genes Fight Against Deadly MERS Virus of Middle East

Nadene Goldfoot

The mysterious MERS virus (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) has erupted in the Middle East's Saudi Arabia. These things travel. "Margaret Chan, the director-general of the World Health Organization, is worried so much that she called it "a threat to the entire world" in a speech given in Geneva Switzerland."  So far, "Human-to-human transmission of MERS has been documented in England, France, Tunisia, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.  Researchers do not know how it is spreading.  The cause might be camels as the virus has been found in them.

Being very interested in our genes, I'm amazed that our own immune system can detect an invading bug and that different genes are activated to fight off a viral infection.  Others fight a bacterial or fungal infection.  These tiny molecular changes happen before we even have any inkling that something is wrong with us, before we have symptoms.  Not only that, but that they form special patterns of RNA and proteins, something called a genomic fingerprint.
Duke University's researchers are working on a blood test to tell when a respiratory illness is caused by a virus or a bacterial infection.  They are trying to keep doctors from using antibiotics when it would do good except to actually harm our immune system.  Dr. Geoffrey Ginsburg is Duke's genomic medicine chief and leads the team.  They have been having a study of 102 people who have provided knowledge that the test is working.

Saudi Arabia has been hit with MERS. The first case was reported just last year on September 24th in Saudi Arabia.  It's similar to SARS.    "Reporting online in The Lancet, the scientists said they had assembled a family tree of the coronavirus causing Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), using samples taken from 21 patients in Saudi Arabia."  Camels, bat and goats are possible animals that have carried the virus to humans. "The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Thursday it had been informed of 132 lab-confirmed cases of MERS, including 58 deaths."  The hajj pilgrimage takes place next month.  The worry is that MERS can be spread from person to person.

The virus,  SARS infected more then 8,000 people and killed nearly 800 in 2003 before being brought under control.  MERS acts like the common cold and attacks the respiratory system, but with much more severe symptoms. Cough and fever can turn severe and may be followed by pneumonia and kidney failure. The WHO has also observed diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with disease.

Antibiotics do not work on viruses but only agitate our immune systems so that when we do get a bacterial infection, the available antibiotics don't work.  One needs stronger and stronger ones.  The problem is that there is a limit, and then no amount of medication helps.

IRAN: 6 Months From Bomb Making

Nadene Goldfoot

Forget the media spin that is coming out about Iran.  Iran is only 6 months away from developing a bomb, and that would be  a nuclear one.  So pronounced Yuval Steinitz, Israel's minister for strategic affairs on Friday.  There is no more time to hold negotiations.

Evidently Washington's "all options on the table" hasn't done it.  Iran knows they have room to maneuver.  They're sending out their "moderate" president, Hasan Rouhani,  to calm everyone down and stop chomping at their heels. He doesn't come up with those horrid adjectives to describe Israel like Ahmadinejad did.   He's snowing many people, but not Israel. A leopard doesn't change his spots, and we all know that it's the Ayatollah who rules this country.

One who seems to be  buying into the suggestion that Iran is just using nuclear energy to make medical devices or whatnot is President Barack Hussein Obama II who sent Rouhani a private letter.  He has also renewed discussions in Washington about negotiations to lift sanctions against Iran.  Giving up, already?

Therefore, Rouhani was interviewed this week by NBC.  He sounds like he is so willing to engage in diplomacy about it.  Netanyahu's comment was that he wasn't fooled by his words.  "The test is not in what Rouhani says, but in the deeds of the Iranian regime, which continues to advance its nuclear program with vigor."  Netanyahu had said earlier that he thought Rouhani was a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Netanyahu has a September 30th meeting with Obama in Washington and has to make a speech to the UN General Assembly.  He'll make Iran's nuclear development his focus.  The USA and Israel have had the same goal of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.  They do disagree on the timetable and how to prevent this, though.

Israel sees such a bomb a great threat to their existence and is for a more forceful and immediate military option.

One would have thought that Obama was pressing for a military option on Syria's chemical warfare that has killed so many children, but he backed out of that deal already, giving Syria time to do something with the arsenal.  One has to remember that he was a contender for the presidency that was against war.  What was odd was that he was willing to strike and run  in Syria with the "no boots on the ground."

Of all the horrible threats that Israel is up against, the Iranian A bomb is the most lethal.  Netanyahu knows that no one will come to help Israel if they lose the ability to defend themselves.  Israel has the 4th best army in the world.  One A bomb could wipe them out.  This is  more than a serious situation because Iran has threatened Israel in the worst ways.

One thing hanging over our heads in the USA is that by October we'll have run out of our spending money.  That does curtail any activity.  Our Senate and House just aren't seeing things the same way, either.  This is another first in our country.  Obama's trying to create a Utopia for us all  as far as health insurance goes which is very expensive.  He can't accomplish what Israel has for its citizens, but then Israel is only as big as  New Jersey, 5th smallest of the 50 states in the USA.  .

Upcoming UN Nuclear Agency Meeting and What They'll Talk About: Iran or Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

The Arabs are having a mental problem.  They are constantly fixated on Israel.  The sky is falling on top of their heads; their children are dying from their neighbors chemical warfare, but they zero in on nothing except Israel.  They have a one-track hatred problem.  They can't pull the wool over Israelis eyes because they are also Middle Easterners,  but oh, so different.  .And oh, do Muslims covet Jerusalem!
This will show up again in this coming week's UN nuclear agency meeting taking place September 27-28th.  The Arabs have a deaf ear for Westerners who are concerned about Iran's atomic power that will soon be productive.  The Arabs will target Israel over its assumed nuclear arsenal.  Israel is widely believed to possess the Middle East's only nuclear arsenal.  This draws a lot of Arab and Iranian condemnation.  Israel has never acknowledged having any.  Israel hasn't threatened anyone of the Middle Easterners, either, which is what Iran has done to Israel.  Being a dot on the map among Arab nations that is constantly attacked or threatened by attacks gives Israel an edge.  G-d forbid,  if push came to shove, the idea of Israel having such a defense system has kept their enemies at bay for 65 years without Israel saying boo, except they see Israel as a power they haven't overcome by fighting, either.  1947-48, 56, 67,  73, 82, attacks from Gaza, lots of wars and Israel has never had to play the Atomic bomb card.  Yet.

Israel's religion is Judaism, following the precepts laid down by Moses almost 4,000 years ago.  It's a religion of moral laws; doing the right thing by one's neighbor.  Mohammad called Jews and Christians the People of the Book.  I see that the Qur'an teaches that Muslims must fight and kill unbelievers "wherever you overtake them" until "religion is Allah's." (2:190-193).  What happened to our respect?

Judaism is not a religion that beats the bushes for converts.  Quite the opposite.  We don't proselytize. Not even in Khazaria where the Kagan was bumping into the powers of Christianity and Islam that was harming his trading pursuits.  .  He took the middle road of choosing Judaism for his royal house but didn't force anyone to convert. He actually heard 3 speakers tell about their religion and chose Judaism.   Khazaria became a haven for other oppressed Jews from nearby lands.  It's a hard religion to join.  One has to keep asking to show that they are serious.  By these standards and because of being isolated from the population of the countries we lived in, we haven't even married out of the faith hardly ever until recent history, mainly in the USA.
Our government tries to tell us that Islam is a religion of peace, but there's an awful lot of hate for Jews in it of which makes Nazism very attractive to the Arabs.  Islam's author, who dictated his book to another since he couldn't read or write, was Mohammad, a warrior on a horse living much later than Moses being born in 570 CE in Mecca.  Islam teaches that Allah transformed disobedient Jews into "apes, despised" (2:65; 7:166), and "apes and pigs" (5:60).  It says that they're accursed for rejecting the Qur'an, which they should have recognized as confirming their own Scriptures."  So they have a deep grudge against us for not converting back then.  And now here we are, having thrown off the shackles of being dhminnis in their lands to holding the deed for their old land again by bringing to life the land of Israel.  Not only that, but this handful of people have become a strong nation of 8,000 sq. miles.  Their 8 million people are tough, withstanding all the attacks the Arabs have brought against them.  They even have the audacity to act friendly towards them, until they're bombed.  When I think of the 23 million people in Cairo alone, I wonder myself how Israel can fend off their armies, but they have done it.  We feel we have help from high up.
According to the Muslims, we eat kosher food because of our wrongdoing.  They believe that G-d (that one G-d that both Jews and Muslims believe-being monotheistic)  gave food laws to the Jews as punishment.  They think this was brought on by our averting from the way of G-d, and so was repaid for their injustice (6:146).  Here we have 613 laws other than the 10 Commandments plus a lot of others including discussions on behavior to be just to others, and they think just the opposite.  We had King Solomon, known far and wide for his wisdom in judging people and coming up with such intelligent decisions.  As a judgmental people, we sure produce a lot of lawyers and doctors.

We have the Muslims who say we know nothing about justice while the Christians have always faulted us with too many laws.  We can't please everyone and I don't think Moses was trying to, except we were to be a light, an example of good behavior.  Learning by example works in most cases.  This time it's just caused a lot of jealousy in these closed minds.

And so it goes.  Always pick on the faults of the Jews, real or imagined.   Muslims have no faults.  They're tough.  They're warriors.  They'll die in battle and have 72 virgins at their disposal. I wonder it that counts when they kill their own people who are also Muslims?   Children grow up wanting to emulate their warrior chiefs.  That's their example.  It goes on right in Gaza and the classrooms of Palestinians in Judea and Samaria.  The problem is, they're only fooling themselves; and a lot of the members of the UN.

Illegal Africans Streaming Into Israel, the Land NY Times Bashes Over All Middle East States

Nadene Goldfoot

Even though the NY Times has spent their latest comments bashing Israel, there have been people flooding into this tiny 8,000 square mile country of Israel fleeing from their war torn African nations such as the Eritrea and Sudan.  Nobody bothered to tell them that Israel was  probably ready to collapse or their chances of survival was worse than all the other 22 neighbor states of Israel.  Why didn't they seek refuge in Egypt?

They knew Israel was a country of freedom and democracy and snuck into the country starting in the middle 2000's.  They came as undocumented workers and entered illegally through the fenced border between Israel and Egypt.  26,635 came in 2010.  By 2012 the number was 55,000. For 30 years the Eritreans had fought for their independence from Ethiopia from 1961 to 1991. There had been war between Eritrea and Ethiopia from May 1998 to June 2000.  Over 150,000 Eritreans had been killed.  69% of Eritreans are Sunni Muslims.

Eritrea, a country on the Red Sea with ancient connections to Egypt, has  about a 6 million population.  They belong to the African Union, UN, IGAD and have observer status in the Arab League.  A neighbor state is Sudan which has 43,939,598 people of which 70% are Sunni Muslims.

"Many of the undocumented workers seek an asylum status under the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees of the United Nations. Only a fraction of all the undocumented workers is actually eligible for this status.  However, many of them, mostly citizens of Eritrea and Sudan, cannot be forcibly deported from Israel. The Eritrea citizens (who, since 2009, form the majority of the undocumented workers in Israel) cannot be deported due to the opinion of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees that Eritrea has a difficult internal situation and a forced recruitment and therefore the Eritrean immigrants are defined as a "temporary humanitarian protection group". Despite the fact that a similar opinion does not exist in relation to citizens of Sudan, Israel does not deport them back to Egypt due to a real fear for their fate."  (Wikipedia)

Since the onset of the conflict in 2003, an estimated 400,000 ethnic Africans have been killed, over 3,200 African villages have been destroyed, and 2.4 million people have been displaced. There are also over four million Sudanese reliant on humanitarian aid.

Israel passed a law last year  that allowed police to jail refugees and undocumented migrants for as long as 3 years without a trial in the attempt to crack down on this flood  of illegals. However, Israel's 9 Judges in the Supreme Court tossed this law out on Monday because it violated human rights.  There are about 2,000 that are presently being  held in detention facilities.  In fact, this law was violating Israel's own laws.  Those that had been for it pointed out that it had quickly reduced the number of refugees and migrants entering Israel through the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.  There had only been 34 who entered in 2013 compared with 9,570 in 2012.

When African refugees first came into Israel, they were unemployed and turned the Tel Aviv beach areas into high crime spots.  The teenagers formed gangs and stole the belongings of bathers for starters.  This is no doubt how many wound up in jails.

This year Israel began deporting Eritrean refugees from the jails back to their homeland.  They really would rather stay in jail instead of returning.  Israel had become the home to one of the largest Eritrean communities in the world.

The UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency) has their hands full of all the African wars going on that are causing refugee problems.  "UNHCR operations in the sub-region have seen a significant increase in their financial requirements over the last five years, mainly due to a rise in the number of emergency refugee situations, including the Somali influx and the surge in the number of Sudanese crossing into Ethiopia and South Sudan. UNHCR's budgetary requirements to protect and assist people of concern in the East and Horn of Africa region in 2013 will amount to about USD 1.13 billion."  "The biggest operation in the region remained the response to the Somali emergency, followed closely by the Sudanese refugee situation."

Sharon Harel is the assistant protection officer for the UNHCR in Tel Aviv,  She explained that 90% of the Eritreans are men between age 22-40 who are fleeing indefinite compulsory military duty in their country.  8,5000 refugees come from Eritrea and between 5,000 to 6,000 are from Sudan.  They had to face much danger to get to Israel.

Israel is doing the right thing, brought about by their own democratic system even though it is causing them greater problems.  They 'll work it out.  The point is that this is a Jewish state and Judaism is based on laws of morality.  That's what it's all about;   doing the righteous thing which is the moral thing.

The NY Times, however, did not do the right thing in their Sunday criticism of Israel when they could have zeroed in on the hot spots in the Middle East such as Syria, or the fate of Christians in the Muslim Middle East, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia or Iraq.  Instead their Sunday Review story was about the 2-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.  The parties involved have given themselves 9 months to talk, yet Israel is under a daily threat of chemical attacks from Syria and atomic bombings from Iran who is working overtime to create their dastardly weapons of destruction.  Well, folks, this is how newspapers go under, which many are doing right now.  Even the Oregonian has to pull back and cannot publish a newspaper daily starting next month.

It is a sad state of affairs when a major newspaper thinks that people will only read their paper if they join the crowd and bash Israel, or that the name "Israel" is something people will read about-if it is criticism.  Most people can't even find "Syria" on the map or have no interest in what happens there or how many are killed by chemical warfare, words alien to them.

Maybe newspapers need to revive the Newsboy who stood on the corner yelling, "Extra, extra, read all about it! ....1,000 children die in agonizing death spasms from chemical Sarin gas attack in Syria!"

The Seven Joyous Days of Sukkot

Nadene Goldfoot

Our Jewish history goes back so far that we have accumulated a lot of historic facts.  Moses, from the Levite tribe,  lived from 1391 to 1271 BCE.  It could also have taken place as far back as 1445 BCE.  Egyptian history indicates a period during the reign of Pharaoh Merneptah (1225-15 BCE).  Some think Rameses I or II was the Pharoah of the story which is the city where Jews left Egypt from.  Thutmoses III is a good possible of the pharoah in question, putting the Exodus in 1440 BCE.  To remember and celebrate a period  that happened at least  c. 3,404 years ago is just part of how we remember this important event.  Now we're about to embark upon another  happy holiday that starts tomorrow night (Wednesday the 18th) and lasts for 7 days.  It's a camping out under the stars holiday commemorating the Israelites during their 40 years of wandering in the desert with Moses when they left Egypt as slaves.  The Israelites were the 12 tribes of Jacob, son of Isaac who was the son of Abraham.  Jacob had 12 sons by his 2 wives and 2 concubines and one lovely daughter, Dinah.  The 70 people were held captive as slaves from the time they had entered Egypt to the time they left with Moses, an event called the Exodus.  Of course, by the time they left, all the slaves who were following Moses numbered about 600,000.  Their trek is quite a story.  Moses actually took a census of each tribe.

They built little booth-like structures that they slept in. In essence,  we role play this period of time by actually reenacting the experience.  The best part is that work is prohibited on the first day in Israel, but the first 2 days in the diaspora because we want to be sure we are doing it on the day the people of Israel are also doing it.

Families try to eat all 3 meals and snacks in their succah.  We have a special recipe for building our succah (booth) like a rectangle missing a side  that resembles a dining room in a way but with 3 sides which is found in the Mishnah and Talmud treatise "Sukkah".  The roof is of special importance  and must be made of leafy boughs or sometimes straw with the shaded area bigger than the unshaded.  This means that we have holes in our roof so we can see the stars.  Walls can be made of anything, usually blankets, and only 2 really need to be completed.  The booth is to be decorated with curtains, fruits, and symbols of the holiday like pumpkins, such things from a harvest.

Sukkot is one of 3 pilgrim-festivals beginning on the Hebrew calendar on Tishri 15 with the 8th day of Shemini Atzeret being a separate holiday which in Israel is combined with another festival of Simhat Torah.  It's also called a festival of harvest.  The tradition is to celebrate it by taking the  4 species; palm (lulav), citron (etrog), myrtle and willow and carrying them in a procession in the synagogue and by living in your Sukkah.  Each of these 4 kinds represent a different type of Jew.  It is a symbol of our oneness as a people.  We all need one another. The 4 kinds are waved in all 4 directions; east, west, north and south and up and down, signifying that G-d is everywhere.  This gives me the shivers, because right now we are experiencing the return of all our Jews from the 4 corners of the earth, something that has been prophesied

We are told that during those 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, the Jewish people were surrounded by protective "clouds of glory."  We remember this awesome event in our history to enhance our awareness of G-d's all-embracing love and protection.  We were commanded "In Sukkahs (booths) you shall dwell, seven days."  (Lev. 23:42).  It's great since this holiday is so much fun and makes us really remember the history.  Mothers will bake different harvest breads like banana, zucchini breads, etc, the more the merrier to entertain friends with.  Also, it's a breather from school that had just started, our last hurrah before buckling down and studying.

The period of living in our sukkah is to help us  become more exhilarated with life.  We had just experienced 7 solemn days between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.  Sukkot will bring us happiness in all the weeks of the year to come.  It is a great time to recall.

Prophet Isaiah and What He said About the End of Days and the Jewish People

Nadene Goldfoot

He will raise a banner for the nations and assemble the castaways of Israel; and He will gather in the dispersed ones of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

ISAIAH (11:12)

ve-na-SA nays la-goy-EEM ve-a-SAFneed-KHAY yees-ra-ALE oo-ne-foo-TZOTE ye-hoo-DAH ye-ka-BAYTZ may-ar-BAH kan-FOTE ha-a-RETZ  (from  Jerusalem 365).

How long ago do you think this was written?  It was written by Isaiah, a Prophet who prophesied from Jerusalem from the time of the death of Uzziah or Azariah, King of Judah c 780-c740 BCE  until the middle of Hezekiah's reign King of Judah  from 740- 701 BCE  (maybe 720 -692 BCE).  That was about 2,738 years ago.  All this has come true!

Isaiah was of a noble family and closely connected with the royal court. He may have been a relative to King David in this case.   Under King Hezekiah's reign, he was very prominent in public affairs.  In the end he was put to death by Manasseh, the king following Hezekiah.  Isaiah had been protesting about the country's moral laxity.  Kindness, pity, justice to the poor and underprivileged were more significant to G-d than offering sacrifices, he preached.

He even felt that the hand of G-d was predominant in all historical events, and said that Assyria served only as an instrument of Divine anger.  He was one to oppose all treaties with neighboring states.  Israel as the people of G-d had to learn to trust in G-d solely.  He said that the people of Israel would be punished for its sins but not exterminated and that a remnant would return and renew the link between G-d and the Land of Israel!  The first thing I think of is the Holocaust and the return of Jews to establish Israel.

Israel is the seer of eternal peace at the end of days when the Lord's Anointed shall judge the nations.  Hasn't Netanyahu begged Abbas to come to the peace table over and over again?  Strange how just as they've sat down to talk that Syria has taken over the limelight and worry of the world again, leaving the peace talks as a forgotten goal.

Scholars have divided his book between chapters 39 and 40.  From chapter 40 on seems to be written by Isaiah writing during the Babylonian exile of 522 BCE.  The first 12 chapters are prophecies to Israel and Judah and promises of a glorious future from 761 to 740 BCE. then in 721 BCE all attacks broke out when Shalmaneser V's siege of Samaria and its capture.   Then he wrote about visions concerning other nations.  After that he gets into apocalyptic prophecies on the future Day of Judgment.  He writes about the campaign of Sennacherib, a short apocalypse taking in a vision of Edom, historical chapters in prose describing the march of Sennacherib and the mission of Merodach Baladan, then chapters of consolation and the promise of future redemption.

This line is interrupted at chapter 52 (13-53:12) by the vision of the suffering Servant which is interpreted by most Jewish commentators as referring to the Jewish people.  Indeed, we had been suffering from the Assyrians and then by the Babylonians who stole away our 10 tribes of the 12.

The Christian church, which came along after the death of Jesus, interpreted that section as foretelling the Passion of Jesus.  Isaiah's prophecies of redemption and comfort have been of supreme importance to both Jews and Christians.

The people of Judah.:  Judah was one of the 12 sons of Jacob and his first wife, Leah. Jacob's name had been changed to Israel after wrestling with an angel and overcoming it.   It was the largest tribe and the strongest of the 12 tribes.  Israel had been divided in half when King Solomon died in 933 BCE and was the southern piece of the kingdom which included Jerusalem.  Israel was also often referred to as the Kingdom of Samaria.  When Jacob and his 12 sons had entered Egypt with their group of 70 persons, they were finally taken as slaves and kept in that condition for 400 years from the time of entrance at a time of drought in Canaan.  Now it is this exact location that the Palestinians wish to make exclusively theirs and turn it all into "Palestine" the name given to Eretz Yisrael by the Romans when they conquered Jerusalem in 70CE even though we have thousands of Jews living here as well, especially since the Arab's  defunct attack of 1967.  When Israel was created in 1948, the Jews had settled mostly on the Western side of the land where Tel Aviv lies due to the Ottoman Empire's rulings of where they could settle.  Jews were given the whole shmear in 1922 in the League of Nations decision.

Aaron and Moses were the sons of Amram and Jochebed.  Jochebed was the daughter of Levi, one of the 12 sons.  Amram was the son of Kohath, son of Levi.  Levi was Abraham's 3rd son by Leah and Judah was his 4th son by her.  So Aaron and his descendants were the designated Cohens in the religious rituals that Moses was to declare. His brother,  Levi was to be the helper and teacher in the rituals with his descendants to be known as the Levites.  Cohens became the first readers of the Torah on a Saturday (Shabbat) morning and Levites were the 2nd readers.  If there was no Cohen present, then the Levite was to start.

Israelites and Judah or Jews are mentioned as being part of the in-gathering to take place which is happening and has been going on for over the past 25 years already.  Nobody has said that a Jew must have the Y haplogroup of J1c3d exclusively.

We are a mixture of the 70 Jewish people who entered Egypt and became  slaves  for 400 years and are now all mixed up with the other slaves that joined our group to be led out by Moses.  They all accepted the contract of abiding by the Laws of Moses who received them on Mt. Sinai.  It is enough that we all feel the same about G-d. Led by the 12 tribal leaders, we had become a nation.   There are people who have maintained the customs of rituals of Judaism from these thousands of years of waiting and have been accepted as Jews into Israel's family once again.  The yearning, knowledge and feeling has been enough of a proof for our rabbis.

What other people would want to join up with Jews who have been hated and persecuted all this time unless they were Jews themselves?  We are people who are threatened by atomic bombing, chemical warfare and plain old horrible mortars, missiles and rockets that fall on us like rain in southern Israel, along with stone throwers and people who spit out their hatred  of us like a rattlesnake.

Just ask the Anusim, Jews who have known then were Jews since 1492 of the Spanish Inquisition.  Though they have had to keep their religious practices and feelings as secret or risk the pain of death for the past 521 yearss, they did not falter in passing their religion onto their descendants.  Of all our Jews, they have been the most diligent in not forgetting and keeping the faith in my estimation.  They deserve front row seats.

In Russia and Germany we were were exposed to other people and ideas  though in Italy we were in ghettos that locked us up at night and in Russia were kept in the Pale of Settlement which also had other people residing there as well. These Jews, of which my ancestors were a part of, were so put down and treated like drek (filth)  that when they got to the Golden Medina, America, they just lived and some forgot just who they had been.  That unfortunately was followed up and magnified by a lot of anti-Semitism.  The effect on a few was to drive them into communism with its partner,  aetheism.  For others, they just worked to be the best of whatever they had talent for so as to forestall the inevitable forced dismissal from that country.

So indeed, we are the castaways; a people who have survived the ravages of time, still believing in one G-d only.  My, how Moses impressed us!  We faltered time and again along the way, only to be pulled up by the nape of our necks to jump back on the horse and to get with the program.  But then, we've kept up this momentum for 3,283 years.  How many religions have done that, pray tell?  And now we can look back in awe at the knowledge that Isaiah had and shake our heads in wonder.  For those who do not believe in any religious stuff, see if they can explain it.  Just what is time and history, anyway?
