The Amazing Arabian Nights Tale From Abbas: His UN Speech

Nadene Goldfoot
In reading over Mahmoud Abbas's 6 page speech that he gave to the UN today, I see he keeps referring to Jerusalem as the Holy city.  I know Muslims consider Jerusalem as their 3rd holiest city.  This is only because Muhammad went to heaven when he was in Jerusalem by being raised up while on his horse.“[The Jews] claim that 2,000 years ago they had a Temple. I challenge the claim that this is so.” said Abbas.  "  He is in complete denial of the Jewish history of Jerusalem and the 2 states that were Jewish, and so are his people.  What they are taught in their schooling is the opposite of the truth for political reasons.  They have a reason to be so oppositional.    I don't know what the excuse the rest of the world has for not knowing the history of the Middle East;  especially the leaders who wind up in the UN.   Have they never read the Old Testament part of their Bible?  Have they never studied Middle East History?

Muhammad himself is buried in Medina, Saudi Arabia at the Al-Masjid al Nabawi Mosque there.  Abbas doesn't want to accept the fact that Jews have been living in Judea and Samaria since before the days of King David and that Jerusalem was made holy by King David, a Jewish king, by the way.

"This slander echoes, the lies spread by official Palestinian TV (Al Jazeera from Qatar) which, according to Palestinian Media Watch recently aired an interview stating, "No trace of Jewish history in 'our land' … Temple exists on the minds of radical organizations."

"Tragically, the NGO world and most world leaders, including many churches have not uttered a word as Palestinian propaganda infers that the prophetic writings of Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel – revered by Jews and Christians alike – were never uttered in the Holy Land." Simon Wiesenthal Center

So, Mr. Abbas.  Did you not know that my great great grandfather's family was a Jewish tribe in Medina and that he went to heaven in his rocket that he had invented with the help of the Chinese when he went on the Silk Road to visit China?  We now wish to take over Medina and make it the Jews' 3rd most holy site.  Okay?  Did I forget to mention that since Israel's 1948 birth, the men in our family have been Mossad leaders. they are capable of anything, even making carpets fly.   Stanley Goldfoot is my cousin.  Look him up.  How do you like these apples?  Hmmm?  Of course now I want Eastern Medina as a Jewish capital.

The hypothesis Abbas presents as the history of Palestine reads like the Arabian Nights Tales.  He takes an outcome but changes the reasons for it happening over and over.  He mentioned the signing of the Declaration of Principles in 1993 between the PLO and Israel.  I ask why the Palestinians didn't get busy and fulfill the obligations of discussion with Israel and create their state while they had this 100th chance to do so?  Between all the different Prime Ministers and factions of Liberal to Conservatives that Israel has had, none have been able to get the Palestinians to make peace.

Abbas is having a cow over the building going on in East Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria for the Jewish population there, though not many Jews live in East Jerusalem.  The rest of Jerusalem is highly populated with Jews.  It's happening because one doesn't let prime real estate sit neglected for 64 years when you feel it is rightfully yours in the first place.  It was land originally deemed to be part of the Jewish Homeland.  It was taken in 1967 when Israel was attacked by all the greedy hateful nations surrounding them.  By ignoring the consequences of such a dastardly deed of the Arabs, this would allow aggressive take- overs spewing death just like the Nazis did to Poland without consequences.  Only this time Israel protected itself and overcame the aggressors.  Result?  The Arabs lost the land.  That should be a lesson to those aggressors that if they decide to take such an option, they might just lose everything.  But according to the Arab Palestinians, they want all the land.  When Jerusalem was under Jordanian rule before 1967, no Jew could enter East Jerusalem or go to the Wall.  The Jewish cemeteries there were desecrated with human feces.  There was no tourism.  It remained in shambles.  Along came the Jews and the place is lit up like a Christmas tree.  It's beautiful and the Arabs covet it like crazy.

He cries over Israel's blockade of Gaza.  Why?  Because the people coming in were bringing arms to Hamas to use against Israel, but he leaves such important matters out in his speech.  The whole talk is of this ilk, complaining about the outcomes that come from attacking Israel.  It's pathetic.  He spoke of "frequent attacks against our people" neglecting to say that it might be after they hit Israel with rockets, mortars and missiles.  And what did the audience do?   41 countries voted with him.  Idiots!  Sniveling idiotic people!  A pox on their house!  They've all lost the skill of reasoning.  It's so much easier to give into evil!  Forget it all; it's not their problem, go home and have a drag on some pot or a glass of wine.

Israel has been warning the world about Iran's goals of building a bomb to use on their country and possibly others. Netanyahu did so at the UN, but Susan Rice, UN rep of the USA,  walked out to have lunch with others, so she didn't take Israel seriously.

It has just been disclosed that Iranian scientists have in mind a "nuclear weapon that would produce more than triple the explosive force of the WWII Hiroshima bomb, Little Boy,  that fell on August 6, 1945. "  The bomb on Hiroshima had a force of about 15 kilotons. It killed 90,000-166,000 people.  Death was not pretty.  Half of the population killed died on the first day by flash or flame burns (60%) , falling debris (30%) and other causes (10%).  People kept dying for months from radiation sickness and burns.

The USA dropped another bomb, Fat Man,  on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945 whereby 60,000-80,000 more people went through the same painful deaths.  Six days later on August 15, 1945, Japan surrendered.  If that happens to Israel, surrendering wouldn't do much.  I'm afraid about 600,000 people would be dead or dying, completing Iran's goal of driving Israel and its 6 million Jews out of their native land.

The new graph obtained on the QT shows Iran's to be 50 kilotons.  Modern nuclear weapons have yields hundreds of times higher than the 15 created in 1945.

The International Atomic Energy Agency told us last year that they had diagrams showing that Iran was calculating the "nuclear explosive yield" of potential weapons, but who listened?  Now a high level diplomat confirmed that the graph AP just received was one of those cited by the IAEA in that report.

Their goals must be stopped before it produces a weapon.   The people reporting are doing so only on condition that they and their country not be named.  "Iran's nuclear chief said yesterday that uranium enrichment will move ahead with "intensity" with a sharp increase in the number of centrifuges used to make the nuclear fuel."

The Mind Set of Hamas Terrorists: Looking Into the Hatred Islam Has for Jews

Nadene Goldfoot
Golda Meier had said that when the Arabs loved their children more than they hate us, we would have peace.  We're going to have a very long time to wait, evidently, because they are saying that they love death more than we love life.

"Qaradawi, the "Godfather" of the Muslim Brotherhood, teaches that  Mohammed's orders are not open to question by 1.5 billion soldiers, Islam's "soldiers."  These soldiers or followers are told to obey the prophet, even if he tells you to kill.  Such people as Qaradawi interpret the prophet's message in the extreme in many cases.  There are more books to go by other than just the Koran and this is how they understand messages.  Qaradawi was the Muslim leader kicked out of his homeland, Egypt by Mubarak and found refuge with his friend, the Emir of Qatar.  From there he broadcasts his messages all over the world using Al Jazeera TV.   His sermon, broadcast on June 10, 2005 said that "The problem with the Jews is not their faith or law, but of greed and the events that led to this Muslim attitude toward the Jews since the time of the Prophet.....ever since they began to covet the holy and blessed land of Palestine."

Qaradawi, a leader of great repute, seems to forget this following fact.  Allah says in the Qur’an, "... Do not let hatred for a people incite you into not being just. Be just. That is closer to taqwa” (Surat al-Ma’ida, 8). I don't see that Mohammad followed his own Surat.  He allowed his hatred for Jews to seep into his Koran in many instances.

The Koran tells about the Jew hiding and is a well known anti-Semitic teaching. ‘The Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree…’

"It possible that the hiding Jews mentioned in this hadith imply those diplomats, journalists, judges, businessmen, doctors, soldiers, statesmen who infiltrate into states and practice their professions and also serve to the dajjal.  ‘…and a stone or a tree would say: ‘Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him. "  But according to a past friend, it takes an expert to evaluate the saying by using many other resources.

Qaradawi   has allowed himself the luxury of hatred for Jews so much that he has stated that even from his wheelchair he would kill a Jew with his bare hands.

The following  is what many Muslims believe.  ‘The Last Hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews.  As can be understood here, the world news today really shows that the Jews fight against Muslims,  especially in Palestine. This hadith was revealed more than 1400 years ago and has come true and reminds us that the Last Hour and the end of this world is close at hand."  (Note:  Jews are fighting Muslims to protect themselves, not that they are starting a fight.  The disagreement came about because the Muslims "terrorists" want Israel to disappear and Israel refuses to do so.   Thus we see the attacking of rockets, missiles, and mortars and the defense of the IDF in shooting at the sources of these attacks.

Mohammad had it in for Jews because they would not convert to his new religion of Islam. He also felt they sided with those others against him.  The 6-7th century was the day of the sword, and he didn't spare it.   I believe this is the first time that a religion was created on purpose.  Jesus taught but wasn't thinking of creating a new religion apart from Judaism.  That happened with his followers.  Abraham simply wanted to lead his family-tribe-clan away from Ur where idolatry was practiced and believe in one G-d as he did.  Mohammad had his hand in the creation and leadership of his disciples.  Moses at age 80 just knew he had to break Egypt's hold on 6 million slaves that they held and lead them away to a new part of the land and teach them what he had received.  He didn't create the religion by force but by freedom.  Thus Judaism was created.   He had to use force all right, but force in fighting through the obstacles that led to a free world, not to force people to believe in his precepts.

Since when has "Palestine become holy to the Muslims, I'd like to know.  Jerusalem is their 3rd holy place only because their story is that Mohammad was raised while on his horse to heaven from there.  Muslims didn't do anything but build their mosque.  Who is the coveter?  In my eyes Muslims are.  The Jews regained only 20% of what was promised to by the Jewish Homeland legally every step of the way and made a gorgeous and righteous state.  They were accepted by the UN body.  It is the Muslims who covet what the Jews have created out of a wasteland.  Israelis  respect all religions in their homeland which Jordan never did.

So people like Qaradawi and Islam's extremism are in the way of a peaceful solution for Israel.  In a February 21, 2011 interview with Al Jazeera TV, Qaradawi encouraged Libyan soldiers to assassinate Libyan President Mu'ammar Qaddafi.  Now I wonder just who was behind the assassination of our American ambassador there recently.  The USA is so close to Qatar politically and socially and Qaradawi is the Emir's religious spokesman and friend.

Life Under Rocket Attack

Nadene Goldfoot

The IDF (Israeli Defense Force / Israeli Army) has a video on U Tube.  Take the 2 minutes time to view it.  It has English translation.

You have 15 seconds to run for cover.  Not all make it.  Southern Israel has suffered from excessive fear for far too long.  The 2 minute video  shows  individual stories of how people in Israel died from rocket fire or how their homes were destroyed.  All suffer from PTSD from the mildly affected to most serious.

That people are still there living under these horrendous conditions attests to their seriousness in keeping Israel.  At any rate, Israel is too small to find another safe place to live.  It's all under fire by an irrational people who believe in killing one's neighbor because they are Jewish.

It's truly a miracle that Israel hasn't had more lives lost, but it calls for a bomb shelter in every apartment building.  Schools have a bomb shelter to go to also, but southern Israel needs more.    I was in one in Safed's junior high  in the northern Galilee.

If you happen to be a child in school and the warning comes and everyone plunges into the shelter, there is not much learning after the all clear.  It takes a while for one's heart to start beating normally again or that your mind can concentrate.  The bombardment started in 2001.  A 12 year old child has known nothing more.

Gaza: Sixth Day of Shelling and Bombing

There is an old story of a man who wanted his children to go out and play and didn't know how to get them to do it.  He finally said,  "Look kids, outside there is the ice cream wagon.  Go out and get yourself an ice cream cone.  They started for the door, eagerly talking about the flavors they would get.  Overhearing this chatter, he called out, "Get a chocolate one for me, too!"  Lesson of this story is that some people can tell a lie and then turn around and believe it themselves.  This is what is happening with the Palestinians.

Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal has said that Israel attacked them!  They are the ones making demands now in order to stop the shelling.  They want the blockade of Gaza to be stopped.  They want the Rafa crossing opening to Egypt opened up for them.  The Rafa belongs to Egypt and they have aligned themselves with their brother Muslims, Hamas. "Mashaal said on Monday that his group is not interested in a ceasefire with Israel."  Turkey is on the band wagon with Mashaal in saying that Israel is carrying out terrorist acts by bombing Gaza!   Their bombing hit 3 Israeli cities today.  The bombardment has been horrific with 130 rockets coming into Israel.

Israel  managed to get about 80 targets, one being getting 4 senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist leaders in a building.  .One thing Israel hit was a bank which took care of Hamas.  I wonder if that interrupted money to Turkey as well.

This has been the 6th day Israel has been fighting back against Hamas terrorists who have been shelling them with rockets since 2001.  Last Wednesday they started by hitting an IDF vehicle and killing one of the 4 occupants, and injuring the other 3. They accuse Israel of hitting the big time terrorist leader, Jabari.  Evidently the USA getting Osama bin Ladin wasn't a lesson for them.

While we have suffered 3 deaths, they have suffered over 100 due to the fact that they purposely put launching pads among their civilian centers in order to cause a heavy death load.  Then they take pictures and lord it over Israel that they are the bad guys.

The UN is a crippled entity.  They haven't been able to make any decisions on wording a document, and the Russians are antsy. and angry.  Ban Ki Moon is in Cairo working on a peace agreement that must last longer than a few days like Operation Cast Lead's hope to end the shelling but didn't.

How Benjamin Disraeli, Prime Minister, Dealt with Anti-Semitism

Nadene Goldfoot
Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881) was the British Prime Minister at a time that I have been doing a lot of genealogy searches of my family.  As it turns out, he was born into a Jewish family.  He had grown up in a house full of books and simply devoured them.  His father was a literary critic and historian.  So it was inevitable that he grew up to be one of the most articulate leaders of his age.

He wrote a novel when only 22 years old about corruption in high society.  It became a best seller, but critics, not his father necessarily, treated it as trash, causing him to have a nervous breakdown.  He recovered later around the age of 27.  You could say he was a sensitive person.

His father's way of dealing with the prevailing anti-Semitism was to have Benjamin baptised into Christianity at the age of 12.  However, at the age of 26 and feeling better, he took a trip to the Middle East to explore his Jewish roots where he embraced his Jewish identity.

Later on he was elected as a Tory, a name for a Conservative Party member.  He was a man that was able to use his erudition, wit and sharp tongue to deal with critics, while rarely losing his poise.  One day he was attacked by an Irish Catholic leader, Daniel O'Connell for being Jewish.  Disraeli responded calmly, "when the right honorable gentleman's ancestors lived in bogs and painted themselves blue, mine were high priests in the Temple of Solomon."  He did have chutzpah!

What a great answer to someone who hated Jews for being Jews.  Queen Victoria liked him, though and had offered him the chance to form a new government.  In 1874 he took over as prime minister for the 2nd time. He's well known for stopping the Russian expansion and overcame the refusal of his Conservative Party to provide strong opposition to the Liberal Party.  His lesson he gave to people was to look at ways to broaden your appeal to other audiences.  He said that circumstances are the creatures of men.  I guess he thought man could also change those circumstances.

People Not Understanding a Thing About Israel: France's Foreign Minister for One

Nadene Goldfoot
"In France, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabious said: "It would be a catastrophe if there is an escalation in the region. Israel has the right to security but it won't achieve it through violence. The Palestinians also have the right to a state."    Sometimes I just can't believe the idiotic comments of people in power.  Are they really that stupid?  Is this why there is more anti-Semitism in France than any other European country?  Doesn't he know that Israel departed from Gaza for the sake of peace?  Now it's a gigantic launching pad for missiles against Israel.  I am not a diplomat or a politician.  I'm a Jewish grandmother who is plainly disgusted with  the prevailing attitude towards the one and only  teeny Jewish state.

What would he do if his country were bombarded by missiles, mortars and rockets for no reason?  Israel needs security from violence. It's because they exist that they are being attacked, not because they are depriving their neighbors of being a state.   Does he think that terrorist organization bent on Israel's total destruction as stated in the Muslim Brotherhood's charter will sit down and make peace?  They've been shelling Israel since 2001!  Where has Laurent Fabious been?  On planet Venus?

This has nothing to do with the Palestinians having a right to a state.  Israel hasn't been keeping them from this right.  The Palestinians were in the picture as a state from the very beginning before 1948.  The offer was there and they have simply refused it since 1948, finding attacking Israelis more interesting, I suppose.  Perhaps the responsibility to be a state is too much for them.  They seems to know nothing but to attack the Jewish state.

I'm totally disgusted with people who have no inkling of what's going on.  There are books and web-site articles that can give background other than Palestinian propaganda ones that picture Jews as apes and whatnot.  Aren't there intelligent people around who read history?  That goes for colleges and universities, too, who seem to be bent favoring the Palestinians instead of the Jewish side.  Everybody has an agenda and I wonder what these houses of higher learning are, since they haven't been much of higher learning lately.  I'm thinking of Portland State hosting another hip-hop singer with Arab grandparents,  born in the USA who spews out hatred against Israel.   So much for free speech, but where's the other side?  Or do college students just learn one side of an issue today?  No so when I attended and graduated from there.

I know that Israel's agenda is to stay alive and not be wiped out while still following the 10 Commandments and the 631 others we have to live up to of being a good and fair people.   But being good and fair doesn't mean we stand still and let others try to kill us.  Israelis have been turned into warriors, and will defend their country. There will not be another holocaust!

Like Golda Meier said, when the Palestinians love their children as much as we Israelis love ours, that will be the day of peace.  It isn't happening yet.  They put their children right in harm's way on purpose so they can cry and squeal how bad the Israelis are, hitting their children.  How dare they do that to their own children!  We're dealing with a meshugana brain-washed people that do not even think straight.  If they had any heart or common sense  they would get under cover and away from launching platforms of rocket launchers that spew death.  That will be the day!

Remembering Our Veterans: Not Against Afghanistan, Against Terrorism

Nadene Goldfoot
Afghanistan is a long ways away, yet the USA has had many soldiers over there since 2001.  It is 6, 956.6 miles from Washington DC which would take 14 hours and 27 minutes to fly.  In fighting terrorism there, many Afghani civilians have also suffered.  As of March 31, 2010, 1.9 million USA soldiers have been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Afghanistan rebels who were  Mujahideen (Muslim jihadist )guerrillas and foreign Arabs  were involved in a 9 year war against the Russians who paired up with  Afghanistan's Russian-style government.    Pakistan funded this war along with the USA's President  Jimmy Carter and China starting December 24, 1979 to February 15, 1989. The men fighting were 115,000 Soviets and 55,000 Afghanis against 200,000-250,000 mujahideen.  The end of the war found 75,000-90,000 mujahideen killed.  18,000 Afghani rebels died in this cause as well as 14,453 Soviets.  The Soviets lost the war.

January 2010's  report was that 4 million Afghanis have died including their civilians..   Afghanistan's population in 2011 was at least 28,395,716 with 99% Sunni/Shi'a.  It is an Islamic state and had a military power of active troops of 70,000.  By November 2011, 10,157 Afghani soldiers and policemen had been killed.  As for the USA, we have lost 2,021 of the US military since the start in 2001.

The Lost 10 Tribes of Israel are claimed to be the Pashtuns of Afghanistan who make up a large part of the population.  "Afghanistan has traditionally been dominated by the Pashtuns, who before 1978 constituted a 51% minority in the country. However, as a result of the 1979 Soviet invasion the population distribution in Afghanistan has changed."  85% of the 6.2 million refugees during the Russian invasion  that left were Pashtuns.  They have returned and make up 45% of the population today.

The United States, along with the UK, France, Australia and the Afghan United Front, entered Afghanistan on October 7, 2001 after our Twin Towers were attacked in New York City on September 11, 2001  killing 3,000 people.  The attacks continued that day  with follow-up hits in Arlington, Virginia and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

NATO entered Afghanistan in the effort to stop al Qaeda terrorists, who were using Afghanistan as their base which was the cause of these attacks, organized by Osama Bin Ladin, a Saudi Arabian who started al Qaeda.   They intended to remove the Taliban terrorists and turn Afghanistan into a  democracy. The USA was in absolute shock and wanted the killers caught.  It was like Pearl Harbor all over again.  President George W. Bush was advised by Intelligence as to where and who caused the attack.

The Taliban is an Islamic militant movement made up of many Pashtun tribesmen.  They had ruled Afghanistan from September 1996 to October 2001. Part of their ideology is Pashtun nationalism.  However, I have read reports of them even attacking their own people that wanted no part of terrorism.  "According to the United Nations, the Taliban and their allies were responsible for 75% of Afghan civilian casualties in 2010 and 80% in 2011."

This has turned into the USA's  longest running war.  Supposedly our troops are to leave in 2013.  The war has expanded into Pakistan.  The latest sordid incident leaving a black spot on the USA's reputation is that of  Sergeant Robert Bales  going on a rampage and slaughtering 16 women and children in 2 villages in March with the latest report being that there was more than one person involved.

What Americans Are Facing-USA's Election Aftermath: Facing the Same Old Problems

Nadene Goldfoot
Those living outside of the USA may have thought that Obama won by a landslide.  Untrue.  Our country was split nearly 50-50.  We still have the same Democratic President, Democratic Senate and Republican House.  Obama had to spend almost $1billion to win, and it wasn't a pretty sight or sound. Some of us cried when an ad came on TV again and again and again.   There was mud slung far and wide, with inferences that if Romney won us senior people would go without health insurance which wasn't true.  The Romney slip about 47% of our population that Romney wasn't concerned about  was another misunderstood inference and turned out to be a gigantic flaw and made the 47% feel they were in danger of the 1% like Romney himself.

We're left with Obama's practice of spending fast and furiously with a debt now of nearly $17 trillion.  This has to be reduced or we'll be like Germany before WWI when it took a wheelbarrow full of paper money to buy a loaf of bread.  Think of the interest on this, people.

The whole East Coast has been suffering since just before the election and may continue for who knows from the weather.  FEMA's office was even closed with a sign on the window due to weather.  There are people there without homes or heat or food.  Now they've had snow.

Facing our country is our biggest problem:  Iran.  Most believe that Iran  will become a nuclear power if not  stopped soon.  Obama hasn't many choices; continue with sanctions that might not prove helpful or have to attack the source of the problem or leave it all alone and allow  the world to be in terror of a nuclear-armed bully with a sword over Israel and our head.  What a future that is.  I'm afraid that Iran won't be happy with just holding the sword over Israel's head.  It will want to use it as soon as possible.

As for the Libyan slaughter of our Ambassador and the other 3 Americans in Ben Gazi before the election that we have all been questioning,  it just came out today that General  David Petraeus, head of CIA, fessed up to having an affair that evidently got in the way of his duties to the USA.  He's not a multi-tasker.  He has just resigned from the CIA.  It's nice of him that he didn't bring this up the day before the election, don't you think?  Petraeus says he won't speak before any committee about it, either.  He held the position since April 2011 and had replaced Leon Panetta who moved onto another position.  He has been married for 37 years  He says his resignation has nothing to do with Ben Gazi. . Just one of those coincidences in life, I guess.

Then again, there's December 21st coming up.  The line-up of planets with the sun may have an affect.  It might clear the air and allow some creative thinking to solve problems, but that could be a stretch.  Let's just hope we don't have another storm brewing somewhere for that date. I'm not going to travel that Friday at any hour.

The FISCAL CLIFF we might all  fall over is coming up on January 1, 2013.  This is when the Bush tax cuts expire and Americans, reeling from possible hangovers,  are facing a 19.63% tax increase with only a 0.25% reduction in spending planned.  In danger are cuts in defense.  Obama just mentioned that the majority of the country agrees with him in wanting to raise taxes,  but I tell you that the majority of the country doesn't understand finances and can just barely  balance their own checkbook..  They want their personal priorities and that's it.

The tax level talked about is at $250,000.  The average teacher in Oregon today has a year's salary of $56,503, so teachers won't have to worry about taxes, just getting jobs.   So many have been laid off.   I started teaching in 1958 at $4,000.   We didn't think of belonging to unions then, either.  We belonged to the NEA and  OEA, professional organizations.  How times have changed.

Israel in the Aftermath of USA Election

Nadene Goldfoot
It's finally over.  Like 4 year old Abigael Evans who sobbed, "I'm tired of Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney," we're all tired of the politics that have been raging for so long.  It seems like 3 years to me. How do our politicians ever work when they are they constantly campaigning?  Oh, I know.  Cell phones!

The results showed that just about half the nation voted for Romney, so this country has a lot to contend with; for one the January date of facing the deficit.

Israel is still worried more than ever now about Iran.  "In Jerusalem on July 29, 2012, Mitt Romney gave his backing to a unilateral Israeli military strike against Iran, insisting he would not stand-by while the “ayatollahs in Tehran” threatened to wipe the Jewish state “off the map.”  Romney went on to say that “The threat it [Iran] would pose to Israel, the region and the world is incomparable and unacceptable.

President Obama, according to the NY Times (September 13, 2012) “rejected an appeal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to spell out a specific ‘red line‘ that Iran could not cross in its nuclear program, deepening the divide between the allies over how to deal with Iran’s nuclear ambitions.” Obama was unwilling to agree on any specific action by the US even if Iran reaches a defined threshold on nuclear material or fails to adhere to a deadline on negotiations."
He left the impression on citizens that are not concerned with Israel that he would back Israel when threatened.  Considering other promises that have been broken, I think Israel feels shaky about this one.  Israel knows that they usually have to rely on themselves and not others to stay alive.  Only 5% of the voters were concerned about  the USA's foreign policy being the biggest issue America is facing.
In this race 59% of voters said the economy was the biggest issue facing the country.  This was the same % of voters in 2008, and the economy has gone from bad to worse.  Health care was an issue that 18% said was our biggest issue.  Obamacare was about to be overhauled by Romney.  Only 15% thought the deficit was our biggest issue. That just happens to be tied into Obamacare and businesses that are not hiring.   I wonder what the senators think their biggest problem facing them is?
The USA had all sorts of problems.  In today's era of TV and cell phones, the giant media has biases which helped to shape the voting of the citizens.  Political judgements are being made, such as Benghazi's terrorist attack in Libya and how that could affect voters.  Then there's election-day tampering that we knew was happening in Egypt.  It happened right here in "River City" as well, only not in just one city but many.  Our free elections need to be watched better.  Is voter fraud a sign of maturity?  It would help if people knew what they were doing.  In Florida, one of the last states to get the votes counted who had long lines after the deadline, robocalls told voters they had until Wednesday to vote.  62% of voters back in 2008 believed that electoral fraud was common.  82% favored photo ID laws. Then there's Detroit where police were called when a Republican observer at a polling venue was chased away by a man claiming to have a gun.  Let's not forget the mural in a voting precinct insisting on voting for Obama in Philadelphia where a judge had to put out an order to cover it.
