Judaism-A Religion and a Nationality? How Come?

Nadene Goldfoot
Abram, later called Abraham
Here he is traveling from Ur (city in today's Iraq) to Canaan
with family;
painting by Jozsef Molnar.

Judaism started with the concept of one G-d.  Our ancestor, Abraham, started it all by realizing it  and teaching it to his family.  People of his days believed in many gods and made idols of their gods. This happened about 4,000 years ago in the 2nd millennium BCE (before the common era;  aka-BC to other people).
Abraham was born almost 4,000 years ago in the year of 1948 BCE or thereabouts.  His took for his wife, Sarah, who was his niece.  He wanted children and she wasn't getting pregnant, so he finally took her handmaiden, Hagar, an Egyptian princess.  She had Ishmael.  Finally Sarah was pregnant and had Isaac, a change of life baby.  Hagar had changed and Ishmael was mean to Isaac, so Sarah demanded that they leave the compound.  Here begins our story with Jacob, Abraham's grandson from Isaac.

Abraham had a son, Isaac, and his wife was Rebecca.   Isaac had twin sons, Esau and Jacob.   Jacob, the younger twin,  took 4 wives and then became the father of 12 sons and 1 daughter.

Jacob had married 2 sisters, Leah and Rachel, who were daughters of Laban. Laban was the brother of Rebecca.   Leah had 6 boys and a girl, Dinah, and Rachel had 2 boys.  He then had taken the handmaiden of each wife , Bilhah and Zilpah and each had 2 boys.  Abraham had 12 sons which started the 12 tribes of Israel.  They were called "Israel" because Jacob had gone through a transition of learning with a struggle with an angel  who  then changed his name to Israel.  So when we hear the name of Israel-it goes back to the Jacob that we knew.

Leah was the mother of:               Her handmaiden, Zilpah, was the mother of:
1. Reuben                                                         1. Gad
2. Simeon                                                         2. Asher
3. Levi
4. Judah
5. Issachar
6. Zebulun
7. Dinah

Rachel was the mother of:            Her handmaiden, Bilhah, was the mother of:
1. Joseph                                                          1. Dan
2. Benjamin                                                      2. Naphtali

The 12 sons of Israel had families but they all stayed together, and by the time they numbered 70, the weather had changed and they were in a terrible drought.  It was so bad that they decided to go into Egypt to find food and water.

It was so nice there that they stayed and grew in numbers to the point that they frightened the Egyptians with their numbers.  They were shepherds and raised sheep.  The Egyptians reacted by taking them all as slaves and used them to build storage cities and such.  It was a terrible life as a slave compared to the free one they had as shepherds.  From the time of entrance into Egypt to leaving, 400 years had gone by.  Finally an 80 year old Prince of Egypt who had been of the tribe of Judah but adopted by Egypt's princess, Moses, returned from the desert and had the power from G-d and his former position of power to rescue all 600,000 of the 12 Tribes of Israel and other slaves being held and take them back from whence they had come from:  Canaan.

Moses imparted all he learned from G-d as the Ten Commandments and 613 other rules to follow which they all followed.  This became their religion.

Their history continues on, and by 722-721 BCE, the Assyrians ( a huge force-like China and Russia together) attacked their country and took away the people of the northern part of Israel  where 10 of the 12 tribes were living.  Left were about half of the tribe of Benjamin and the tribe of Judah which was southernmost. The land then was called Judah after King Solomon died.)  The Benjaminites and Judah joined together at this point which was important for safety for almost 200 years later the Babylonians led by Nebuchadnezzar attacked and took most away to Babylon. (Babylonia had inherited the Assyrian holdings).   They were another powerhouse.

When left alone, Judah and the Benjaminites followed their religion as they had done before.  Because the people practicing this were Judeans for the most part, the religion became known as Judaism and the people following it were called the Jews.

No one knew what had happened to the 10 tribes who were taken away.  It was presumed they were killed or were taken very very far away.

Jews remained different from all other peoples who continued to believe in Pantheons of gods.  They had created their own culture around their one G-d religion.  They didn't mix in very well with others as their religion didn't let them mix so much that they would assimilate and therefore forget their religious ideas.  Others found they didn't want to mix with these strangers who believe in just one
G-d, either.

So the Jews had very few intermarriages with others.  They took spouses from their own kind.  They became an endogamous society, something Muslims have also been doing with even closer relations.  Jews did not marry siblings as the Egyptians did.

Therefore, Judaism is a religion and it is nationalism as Israel, our one and only Jewish state, was created as a haven for Jews, who have been treated as the pariah of society by other nations simply because Jews would not convert to the religion of lands they lived in-having become stateless by 70 CE (Common Era-aka AD-Anno Domini which is Latin).  It was the Romans who burned down the Temple in Jerusalem and the whole city) when they had overcome the Israelites.

Jews were stopped by Christianity from proselytizing so never did practice that except in the beginning,  They were proselytized by Christians, of course, and didn't like it at all, so agreed that they didn't want to do to others what they didn't want to happen to themselves.  They felt that others would learn from them by seeing them doing good deeds.  The religion stresses behavior towards others of fairness, something this world wasn't seeing much of.

Judaism has evolved with the era it finds itself in.  It has many branches today of Reform, Conservative and Orthodox, much like politics has developed and evolved into the Left and Right attitudes.  DNA shows that we have been pretty much a closed society, sharing segments of DNA of our 23 chromosomes with other Jews or people with Jewish heritage that no longer practice.  They've assimilated, with a history of either being forced or of their own choosing.

It is the oldest religion still in practice.  We are a small group today, 0.02% of the world population.  Our religion is still as powerful with great meaning as it was in its birth with Moses.  We all have Abraham to thank for being so strong-minded as to stick to his guns in that there was but one G-d.  It was the beginning of turning the world around in its attitude towards life and each other.  Moses developed that with his connection with the One G-d.

Israel has taken in the scattered Jews who have been living in countries all over the world.  We are even finding Lost Tribal members, still practicing Judaism and they have been returning to their ancient land.  To accommodate such a scattered group, Hebrew, the original language, is the spoken and written language of Israel.  Everyone had to learn to speak it again, though it has lasted in the written form and in prayers said in the synagogue.

Two Programs Dealing with At-Risk Violent Children

Nadene Goldfoot
My husband and I were driving from Oregon to Orlando, Florida to visit his parents.  Since we were both teachers with Danny teaching high school and I teaching elementary school children, we thought we'd check out teaching possibilities along the way.  His sister lived in Dallas, Texas.
We checked out an interesting position as House Parents for the Police Department who ran a ranch for boys who could live on this ranch  rather than go to jail.  They were under 18 years of age.  We were asked to stay for a few days to see what the program was like.
They had about 20 boys in a house, and a planned supervised program.  Now this took place about 45 years ago, and I think it was in Florida, with my first problem being that I could hardly understand what the boys were saying!  They spoke in strong southern accents.  For me it was listening to a foreign language.  Really!  It was much stronger and harder to understand than what you hear in movies.
The boys attended school and the mother's job was to have cakes or cookies home baked for when they came home.  That was fine.  I'm a great cook.  Then the boys had chores on the ranch.  They had lots of cattle.  The catch came when we found out they didn't get beef for dinner, but had a lot of pork, and we were conservative Jews.  We gave up on this idea.  I remember that the boys were well behaved and most polite.  All disturbed boys should be this nice.  I'm sure they had been on their best behavior and that the program must have been working for them.
The next experience I had was much later in life when I lived in Montana, and instead of a teaching position, which was all taken by Montana graduates freshly out of college, I found  position as child care worker in a Residential Treatment Center in Helena, Montana.  These children ranged from 6 to under 19.  I got a position mostly with the younger children, but sometimes worked with the older as well.  I think it was actually safer with the older ones.

We were trained to handle older children by the police department as we had to do many take-downs.  We learned a modified way to do is as we were handling people under 19.  I know other centers in Oregon do this sort of thing as well.  We did it with 3 staff members to take down one teen-ager. Our staff was  a mixture of men and women.

These children had all been sexually molested.  They were adjudicated there by the court system; it was the last resort before prison for the older ones.  They lived there and attended school right in the same building.  I worked as part of the nurses staff.  The boss was a head nurse and also on call right there was her boss, a psychologist or two.
My position, a 7am to 4pm one, called for waking up the children in my ward, being with them  in the living room, reading them all  a story as they gathered together, and then walking to the cafeteria and sitting with them through breakfast.  Then we walked to class where I judged their behavior by keeping score of the points they were working for by exhibiting good behavior.  Too many disruptive acts, and I had to take the child to the Quiet Room, which was a padded cell  which was locked-down and notify the psychologist.  There they continued their tantrum without hurting themselves as it was all padded leather on the walls.

I had to be careful when handling the very young children, as they would act out by kicking my shins.  The program lost people because of physical injuries that were just too many.  My shins were black and blue for a long long time afterward, and hurt even when a normal color again for some time.
At the end of the week, points were counted up and enough of them granted them the week's reward; something like going skating with the group with ice cream treats lastly-something they liked and looked forward to.  Children failing in points stayed in their rooms.

Besides all this general living with behavior checked and changed, they all had group counseling and individual counseling.  We had some Indian children from the reservation and I remember being with these special children in a wonderful class conducted by an Indian  teacher peer of mine who taught us all about their Indian culture.  That was SO interesting to me and the children.  It was personal and about their history.

These are two examples of interaction with children who were damaged and failing in society.  Florida's Nikolas Cruz, the most recent shooter of high school students, was already 19 years old.  He had been exhibiting signs of disturbed behavior for  a long time.  It''s too late for him now.

Two of our 50 states had programs to deal with such students to either alter their behaviors or at the least to protect the public.  Why didn't something like these programs get offered to the Cruz parents?  Why doesn't every state in our union hear of such programs.  I think the Ranch idea probably didn't cost a penny to the state as it was a ranch really raising cattle by the Police
Department.  It could have even been in the Black making money for the Police!

Russia and the Jews

Nadene Goldfoot
Tevia walking home to his shtetl
Our history with Russia is tainted with horrible experiences.  In the late 15th century, Jewish traders from Lithuania, my grandparents' country, included a group who were proselytizing Judaism  in Novgorod and Moscow and this precipitated a terrible reaction.  To Russians, it was okay for Christians to go to people and try to persuade them to join their religion but not vice versa.  This is the reason Jews really haven't tried this since Christianity had begun.  I'm even surprised to read that someone tried it as late as the end of the 1400s.  Ivan III was ruler then.
In 1672, Peter the Great was the emperor.
In 1563, 300 Jews were drowned at Polotsk and Vitebsk on refusing to accept baptism.
In 1667, Jews were expelled from Eastern Ukraine upon its annexation to Russia.  Treaties said in clauses that Jews could not visit the country.  This was signed by Russia with foreign powers in 1550 and 1678.

Jews were expulsed from Russia in 1727, 1738 and 1742.  In 1753, 35,000 Jews were driven out of Russia.
By 1762, Catherine II let all aliens live in Russia except the Jews.  Poland was partitioned off in 1772, 1793 and 1795 causing the great Jewish masses of White Russia, the Ukraine, Lithuania and Courland to become Russian subjects.  For more than a century, the great majority of the world's Jews were under the reactionary rule of the Czars.  In 1786, their homes were restricted to towns, laying the foundation of the PALE OF SETTLEMENT.. No Jew could live in "Russia" but were forced into the Pale.   It was like being put on a reservation, but they had to share it with people already living there who must have been put out.

Jews really didn't go into Russia proper to live until 1772.
Only a sect of Judaism received any rights; the KARAITES in 1795.

A report came out about WHITE RUSSIA (Belorussia) .  This led to the creation of the Council for Jewish Affairs in 1802.  Two years later, it defined the Pale, restricted Jews in the villages (Shtetles in 1807-8) and limited the activities of the Kahal(Jewish community leaders knowing about rights, taxes, etc).  This was finally abolished forcefully and included areas of our religion, charity, and prohibited the traditional Jewish costume.  On the positive side, it promoted a measure about agriculture.

Jews remained loyal to Russia during Napoleon's 1812 invasion, and Alexander I who ruled from 1801 to 1825 was at first benevolent.  Later, he turned reactionary and expelled some 20,000 Jews from Vitebsk and Mohilev in 1824.  Those who got to remain were forbidden to live near the frontier.
Nicholas Ist reigned from 1825 to 1855 next and published about 600 oppressive enactments regarding Jews.  He regarded Jews as an injurious element.  By 1827 military service was brutally imposed on Jews.  Boys were taken into the army after Bar Mitzva at 13 and placed on the front lines, sure death for them.  Parents often cut off a child's finger to keep them out of the army.  The frontiers of the Pale were restricted in 1835 to Jews and this lasted till 1915, causing them to be caught in the Russian web.  They couldn't escape out.  1836 brought on the censorship of Jewish books, and then in 1844 the Kahal was abolished.
Emperor and Autocrat of all of Russia
Russian Orthodox Religion
Part of a reform movement

Alexander II( 1855-1881)  tried to Russify the Jews by education and a gradual relaxation of restrictions, but the judicial law of 1864 contained no anti-Jewish discrimination.  At the time, 65,000 Jews were working in agriculture.  Russian Jews soon became prominent in economics, culture, and left-wing politics.  Social anti-Semitism replaed or reinforced the former religious prejudices.  Then Alexander II was assassinated in 1881 at age 62 and the Jews became the main victims.

Pogroms were then in full swing starting in the 1880's.    Jews were again viewed as a foreign element and were kept apart from the village population.  As a young girl, my grandmother was in one when they broke both her legs.   This brought on a mass migration to the USA and "Palestine."  This brought on the MAY LAWS, laws controlling Jews in the Pale of what they were no longer allowed to do.   Jews were expelled from Moscow in 1891 and many clauses were written into high schools and secondary schools, causing more and more Jews to turn to Zionism and Socialism with the Bund founded in 1897 as well as a revolutionary movement.

By 1905, Jews were organized and wanting equal rights.  Nicholas II vetoed the Jewish legal position and conditions for them continued to deteriorate.  By now, my grandparents were getting married in Boise, Idaho, thank goodness, for many Russians were able to come to the USA.

Anti-Semitism reached its peak with the Beilis case, a blood libel, and people believed it because they were told to believe that Jews used Christian blood in their matzos.

What were Jewish men mostly involved in?  Studying the Talmud.  THE PALE OF SETTLEMENT was the world's greatet center of talmudic studyl.  Odessa, a major city in the Ukraine-Pale of Settlement- was the focus of the Hebrew literary revival and many Zionists and writers came from here.

WWI started and there were 5,600,000 Jews living in the empire of the Czars which included almost 2 million living in Poland, the heart of the study. Then, if they lived near the war zones, they were deported.  300,000 Jews were in the Russian army.  However, Jewish shtetles were the scapegoats of Russia's defeats.  Jews were expulsed from Kovno, Grono and Courland.  Jews could not print anything in Hebrew or Yiddish.

After the war on April 2, 1917, Jews were in the Russian revolution.  Trotsky was a leader then.  By 1918, Jews were serving in different departments in the government.  In 1920, Joseph Stalin was in Power. Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin was a Soviet revolutionary and politician of Georgian ethnicity. Governing the Soviet Union as its dictator from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953, he served as General. Vladimir Lenin was voted the Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR (Sovnarkom) on 30 December 1922 by the Congress of Soviets. Talk about horrible governments!  Americans don't know the half of it.
Breznev in power in the 1960s

                                              President Mikhail Gorbachev
In the 1970s, some 250,000 Jews left Russia.  At first, about 150,000 went to Israel.  They were learning to become Jewish again.  They were better Hebrew students than we Americans were because they were so used to studying other languages, and we weren't.  It was old hat for them.
"Under the 1977 Constitution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the Chairman of the Council of Ministers was the head of government and the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet was the head of state."

However, when I lived in Israel from 1980 to the end of 1985, my Hebrew teacher in 1980 was writing to a Jewish dissident because all religion was then forbidden in Russia.  He had been caught learning Hebrew and was put in prison!  It took a lot for Jews to become released and immigrate to Israel, but they were there as new immigrants when I was, also.   They brought with them Russians things they could trade with as they had little money, such as rugs, dolls, etc.

In the last years of Gorbachev of the 1980's, they were again allowed widespread emigration.  The US had severely limited its intake of Soviet Jews.  They then went to Israel again which took in about 200,000 in 1990 alone. and they kept immigrating there in 1991.  Diplomatic relations with Israel was re-established in 1991, shortly before the liquidation of the USSR.
Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a Russian politician serving as President of the Russian Federation since 7 May 2012, previously holding the position from 2000 until 2008.
He still has the job and it's 2018.

According to Aish, Putin has had good experiences with Jews.
Not so Israel today with Russians in Syria in kahoots with Iran.
What happened to Jews of Ukraine?
Anti Semitism is still strong in Russia.   There are thousands of Jews now living in refugee camps in Ukraine who have decided there is no reason to go back to their homes and some will now make the move to Israel.

Elementary and High School Shootings in USA

Nadene Goldfoot
As a retired teacher, I am in shock over school shootings at elementary schools.  We certainly are developing a sick society.

Just how many schools have gone through this and since when is in question.    The first school to suffer from attack with 10 deaths  happened in 1764 on July 26th, when schools are not necessarily open for studies.  Maybe they were back then, but it was the Delaware Indians who did it in Pennsylvania.  The school probably looked like any log cabin to them.  In 1893 on March 26th the high school in  Plain Dealing, Bossier Parrish, Louisiana was attacked resulting in 4 deaths.  That same year of 1893 also suffered a 2nd shooting in Charleston, South Carolina on December 13th with 6 deaths.  May 6, 1940 in Pasadena, California another shooting resulted in 5 deaths at a junior high with the principal being the shooter!

1998 was when another school shooting occurred.  It was on March 24th when two students of Westside Middle School in Arkansas  (junior high) went on a rampage and 5 were killed by them.

Then another shooting happened  on May 21, 1998 at  Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon which is just outside of Eugene with 4 dead.  An expelled  student killed his parents first and then attacked the school.  It seems that more steps should be taken before expelling a student since the most recent 19 year old killer was also shooting after being expelled.

America has now heard what upset students do, and other maladjusted students are taking notice and filing this act away in their minds as a last resort for them,  too.

The very next year of 1999 on April 20th, we all heard and saw on TV the Columbine Massacre with 15 deaths.  The number shocked the public.  It happened in Colorado.  Evidently our culture is not meeting the needs of its young people as we do have some who are disturbed and attending school.  That's why we have counselors in most schools today.  They serve their districts in academic ways, of course, like finding colleges for high school graduates and such.  They are ones who usually speak with all the teachers about their students, and that can be passed onto the principal if necessary.  Between the principal and the Counselor, someone should be able to be on the line with their local Police Dept. to put out a red marker on these disturbed students who might take negative action. Counselors should also be in close touch with parents.

Things were settled down until March 21, 2005 on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota when 10 deaths occurred.  A 16 year old killed his policeman grandfather and girlfriend, took his weapon and went to the high school by driving his grandfather's car, and wearing his police vest.  Again, this student was not a regular student but had  either been expelled or just hadn't attended for some months.

An Amish one-room schoolhouse was even attacked on October 2, 2006 which is the West Nickel Mines School shooting causing 6 dead.  This is in a village in Pennsylvania.  10 girls, ages 6 to 13 were there, and he shot 8 of them.  This was an adult who shot the girls, a father himself.

The gunman, identified as Charles Roberts IV, was a milk tanker truck driver who served several Amish farms in the Nickel Mines area (including some of the victims' families). He had three children and a wife.  What was the pressures he had to cause such a snap.  He was working and living in a very forgiving environment.

2012  was the next year on December 14 with the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting leaving 28 dead.  This was in Connecticut and the shooter was 20 years old who first shot his mother in her home. .  20 of the  children were between 6 and 7 years old.  The others were adult staff people at the school.  He then killed himself.  He was certainly a sick, sick, sick man.

October 24, 2014 was the next date when  Marysville Pitchuck High School  in Washington had a shooting that left 5 dead.  A 15 year old Freshman shot 4 other students and then himself.   15 is rather old for a freshman.  I remember that I was 13.  There's a problem right there.  This student was having academic problems, for one.  He was clever, though.  He arranged to get his targets at one cafeteria table, then walked up to them.  " He then pulled out a .40-caliber Beretta Px4 Storm handgun and fired at least eight shots."

November 14, 2017 was the date of the Rancho Tehama Reserve, California  shootings which left 6 dead.  This was during a spree that included an elementary school.  The killer was 44 years old and just let out of jail and on bail.  "At the time of the spree, Neal had been freed on bail pending trial for two alleged felonies, and five alleged misdemeanors."  There's always this anger and wanting to get even with society.

Now we come to the latest killing; of February 14th, 2018, Valentine's Day, a day of love and boyfriends and girlfriends.  It was so fun to be in class on those days when you received valentines out of the class Valentine box.  Who loved you?  The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Florida    shootings left 17 dead and 14 wounded by a 19 year old who was expelled from school for his behavior.  He was captured alive and is in jail.  Again, he was too old to have been a senior.  18 is the usual age.  He was not the brightest in class, either, but certainly planned this shooting quite well.  To me, he lacked empathy for animals that he had killed and for fellow students.  I wonder what happened to his biological parents that caused him and his sibling to be put up for adoption?  What happened to his adoptive mother since she recently died and of which he was upset about?  He had expressed the desire to be the shooter killing the most in a school shooting.  He probably did reach this goal.  Now, he's an adult at 19 and has killed on purpose 17 beloved children.  How is the state going to deal with this?

There have been other shootings at colleges.  I'm just dealing with grade schools to high schools in this.  To want to kill young children should be in a class itself.   They are the innocent until adulthood of 18.  These are the ones that get the most attention on the news, as it is unheard of to want to kill children.  I can't help thinking that if guns were out of reach for these unstable killers, they'll use knives.  That's what has happened in Israel, especially in Jerusalem.  Children will be vulnerable on the playgrounds, for sure.  This even happened to one of our Senators who was practicing for a baseball game.  At least with a knife, a killer can't cause the havoc that guns have.  Best yet, stop people from becoming killers in the first place, and a pill or a drink  or a cigarette is not the answer, either.

What Action Are OFA Organized For?

Nadene Goldfoot

There is a new group organized in Washington DC by Obama.  It's called "Organized For Action."  What they are putting out for the public is this:
Organizing for Action is a nonprofit 5014 organization and community organizing project that advocates for the agenda of former U.S. President Barack Obama. .  This is from Wikipedia.

"Whether it is promoting work-family balance, equal pay for equal work, or the Affordable Care Act guaranteeing women security in their health coverage, it is clear the president has put women's issues at the forefront of his agenda," spokeswoman Katie Hogan said.
"We're getting organized; we're getting very organized," said Katie Hogan, the campaign's deputy press secretary who was standing near empty desks soon to be occupied by new hires.

A paper with Charles Krauthammer's name on it that Snopes says is not true,  has alerted us to the fact that  former President Barack Hussein Obama has done something no other President has ever done in this over 200 year old democracy of ours.  It is he, not his wife, behind setting up a special group interferring with our American government.  It is called "Organizing for Action," for short-OFA.  It is the ex-president Obama who is the organizer.   Krauthammer may not have written this paper, but it's simply stating true facts anyway.  It's not fake news and most of us suspected something like this to be going on.

Whatever Trump is trying to do, this group of over 30,000 most likely 100% Democrats are working to disrupt everything the Republican majority government is trying to do.

OFA is going against: our Democracy and ways of passing things in the government.
It goes against
Our Constitution
Our Laws
Our Processes of Governing

It's heading us in the direction of the 3rd world countries and their ways of working
It's not respecting our present government or allowing it to follow our laws.

Remember when then President Obama said he was going to stay involved through community organizing?  That's what he was in his other life.  A community organizer.  He told us he INTENDED to speak out on issues.  He's been doing it.

He has moved many of his administration's top dogs (Democrats) over to ORGANIZING FOR ACTION.
He showed everyone he was on the way to continuing to spend his life doing things his way and not the government way on his last day in office when he voted to abstain on the vote about Israel instead of standing with her, something the USA has not done before.

Really, what has OFA been doing?  "It's behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution. "

We already know that Hillary Clinton and Obama had been conspiring against Trump in the election.  This is the latest news at this time.

OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for "Progressive Change."   These are all issues of contention between Republicans and Democrats.

OFA says its issues are:

1. Gun Control
2. Socialist Healthcare
3. Abortion
4. Sexual Equality
5. Climate Change
6. Immigration Reform
Here was Obama's message:  "Organizing is the building block of everything great we have accomplished.  Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines.  Commit to this work in 2017 and beyond."
This is becoming a shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as America.

Krauthammer quoted Paul Sperry who writes for the New York Post:  "The ex-President is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA.  It is growing its war chest to more than $40 million and has some 250 offices nationwide.
The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/office in Washington DC."  It looks to me like their non-profit set-up with Katie Hogan and Jim Messina are just a hoax as heads.  Of course, they are part of this revolution, no doubt.

For 241 years, our government has been held up as an example of equality and democracy.  People have come here for the opportunities found in no other places.

Is it going to slip away from us now?  This is like ISIS trying to take over the Middle East to create their own  caliphate.
Krauthammer shows how they will work:
1. Trump issues an immigration executive order.
    a. OFA: Signal for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups.
    b. ACLU lawyers file lawsuits where judges obstruct the laws.
    c. Volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings.
   d. Leftist media acts to support
   e. Twitter and social media join in
   f.  Violence erupts

I think we've already seen the previews!
And now, we are in the 3rd day of a government meltdown; an agreement has not  been decided on yet and our government is closed.  The differences in political parties have been growing larger and larger.
The Amnesty issue being fought over all stem from our organizer, Barack Hussein Obama.  " President Obama used executive action to create the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program four years ago, this was the group he was seeking to protect. They were, for the most part, children whose parents came to this country illegally, and either brought them along or sent for them later."
Conservatives argued that Obama had overstepped the bounds of executive power and had infringed on states’ rights. They objected to the idea of rewarding families who were, no matter how talented or well-meaning, in blatant violation of immigration law.
April 2015:  Authorities report having captured 15,647 children traveling without parents who tried to jump the border in the first six months of the fiscal year. Through this point in 2014, they had apprehended 28,579.  Obama had been the president since 2009.   This had to have happened through someone's organization.
